Happy birthday to us! This week Max and Xzy get into just what a year of recording this show and having you all listen has meant for us. Then of course news, there's more Knives Out 2 news, Emily Blunt is sick of being asked about Fantastic Four, and the merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery. With those wheels well greased, we keep rolling through our discussion of famous car chase films with 1969's The Italian Job and go further into our dissection of action cinema.

Strap in and gear up because we're here to burn rubber! It's a month of high octane car chasing action with your friends Max and Xzy. In news, we discuss the shockingly fast reopening of cinemas in the US, the casting of Rian Johnson's Knives Out 2, and the next project from Bong Joon-ho.

Then finally, we begin this theme of intimately discussing fast cars, quick wits, and action cinema with Peter Yates' 1968 Bullitt starring Steve McQueen. What does this supposedly shallow movie have to say about the action cinema that preceded it? How did it inform the future of the genre? And is it secretly about the death of the counter-culture?

Friends, this week it's all about the juicy gossip downstairs and tantalizing drama upstairs and of course...murder. Joined by our lovely friend of the show Andrew "Baulto" Bault, we discuss 2001's Gosford Park. Before that, Max and Xzy discuss what they watched while recovering from their vaccine shots, continue to expose the myth of cancel culture, try to find the perfect Batman villain to court Gen Z, and get hype for Paul Verhoeven's upcoming Benedetta.

We're back, baybeeee!!! Xzy lost her internet for a bit there (and is calling in which explains that) and both of your friends were out of commission while gettin' vaccinated so pardon us as we visit the recording of the long lost era of late April 2021 with our friend Michael Lutz of Ranged Touch media fame. We discuss the news of the long long ago such as the Bring Back Tony Stark campaign, Oscars ad revenue, and that basketball game that had a Marvel storyline. Then, we get into the bloody madness that is Danny Boyle's Shallow Grave.

The British Invasion continues! This week Max and Xzy invite their friend from across the pond, the delightful Bond expert Xander Markham! In the news this week, there's the unfortunate closing of ArcLight theaters, the ensuing legal battle between Disney and the creators of the Predator franchise, and a trailer discussion for the indie darling F9. And then there's chat about 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service and the constantly fluctuating (and sometimes frustrating) state of the Bond franchise.

Tall films!? Who needs em! This week it's all about shorts, baby! Things get started with the most recent box office release date shuffle, an update on the success of Godzilla vs. Kong, and a juicy interview with Chris Terrio from Vanity Fair. Then it's a deep dive into the famous Wallace & Gromit shorts A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, and A Close Shave.

What started as a potential new segment is now a little in-between experiment. We noticed we're gonna be watching a lot of this year's big movie events at home with the whole WB/HBO deal. So why not some little mini episodes with your ol' pals? Let's talk Godilla vs. Kong.

As always we get started with news such as the real numbers behind Zack Snyder's Justice League, the weird career moves of Jamie Kennedy, and the developments of Rian Johnson's Knives Out franchise.

Then it's a fun and surprisingly in-depth nostalgia trip to 1996 with Bronwen Hughes' Harriet the Spy!

Well hey there! Pour a drink and pull up a seat with your friends. This week we're startin' things off with the apparent return of Quibi, the even longer version of the longer version of Justice League, and the news of an R-rated cut of Mrs. Doubtfire of all things. Then things get unsurprisingly nostalgic but surprisingly political as we dive into 1989's UHF.
