What if Twitter had an “Are you sure?” Button? This week Manny and Nicky discuss the need some people have to tweet every thought they have. They take a look at Neil Degrasse Tyson’s recent tweet discussing the statistics of mortality, right on the heels of 2 deadly mass shootings in one weekend, Dayton, Ohio and El Paso,Tx. Tyson went on to tweet:

“In the past 48hrs, the USA horrifically lost 34 people to mass shootings. On average , across any 48hrs, we also lose...

500 to medical errors

300 to the flu

250 to suicide

200 to car accident

40 to homicide via handgun

Often our emotions respond more to spectacle than to data.” Manny did agree with the statistics but also stated this is ill timed. Especially since Tyson himself has been cleared to return to TV after an investigation into his sexual misconduct cleared him. Both Nicky and Manny feel this may have not been the best time to share his opinion. (After the recording of this show, Tyson did release an apology. Link below)

But Neil isn’t the only one tweeting while feeling. Meghan McCain is also facing some backlash for tagging Mindy Kaling in a response tweet to a producer who once worked with Kaling. The producer in question, David Stassen, worked on the “The Mindy Project as a writer /producer with Kaling. McCain announced she will be releasing an audiobook in 2020. Stassen then tweeted “Who the fuck is going to buy this shit?” After catching wind of this tweet, McCain responsed “Sad to find out that you work with someone I greatly admire (and have for a long time)@mindykaling - I know we can’t be judged by everyone we work with it but still. What a cruel thing to say. And my book is for women who are judged for being conservative (among many other people).” Both McCain and Stassen were tweeted with backlash. Many twitter users could’nt understand why McCain thought it necessary to tag Kaling on a post that had nothing to do with her. Especially when McCains husband, Ben Domenech went on a twitter rampage after McCain’s appearance on “Late show with Seth Meyers”. McCain had not responded to her husband’s tweet. Stassen was accused of being mean and rude. Mindy has not publicly responded to the tweet exchange.

Season 2 EP 1 SAME BUBBLES, A TON OF NEW STORIES! The opening of season 2 has Nicky & Manny speaking with guest Krysten Curet about obnoxious customers. Krysten shares with the group some some funny and annoying stories about her experience in hospitality. Manny also gives some insight, on how employees would love to give in to request but rather keep their jobs. Nicky discuss how her days in retail trained her to politely deal with people in any service industry. The gang also throw some headlines at Krysten to get her take on them. K-pop gets its own VMA category; Internet dubs an Ice-bae; a smart diaper; grasshopper vs love bug invasion; and gypsy rose not flattered to meet the actress that portrayed her.

Nicky and Manny are scratching their heads. A Manhattan woman decided to open a Chinese restaurant where her and her "food sensitive" friend can enjoy some asian cuisine without having to worry about any food allergies. What is the big deal, you say... She decided to market the restaurant as "clean"! Yes, Arielle Haspel a white jewish woman opened a Chinese restaurant named "Lucky Lee's", named after her adoring husband, a white jewish man. Arielle in a since deleted post, has stated that "Lucky Lee's" menu is for "people who love to eat Chinese food & love the benefit that it will actually make them feel good." She also mentioned on her blog, "Chinese food is usually dosed in brown sauces & makes your eyes puffy." This is truly something you would think would be in an episode of "Seinfeld". Nicky makes a point that people should diversify their friends like they diversify their pro-foilo. Although the sentiment of a health conscious restaurant doesn't seem so bad, the marketing is where she went wrong. Anyone can open any kind of restaurant, but it is their responsibility to understand the culture, not the stereotype of the culture.

Love Language or Hate Language, you decide? Manny is on a mission to see "Avengers:Endgame" before the internet ruins it for him. For the last 12 years we have financially and emotionally invested in Marvel's movies. More success than failure has lead us to this movie. With Manny being so excited about the movie, he was able to get tickets to a showing on the opening weekend. Nicky is on board, until he drops the bomb... 8AM SHOWING... ON SUNDAY... in the busiest part of NYC... TIME SQUARE!  Nicky is not a happy camper, but is on board as she explains it is apart of her love language, but this showtime choice is obviously Manny's revenge for something!

COACHELLA 2019 make some NOISSSSEEEE!!!!

Manny and Nicky are finally back... with reception! Ready to give you their thoughts on their first Coachella experience.

Day 1 - a learning day. This is the day to figure out the ins and outs o the festival. The vibe, the people, THE WALKING!! This is the day where your expectations get tested out.

Day 2- a leaning in day. On this day you have an idea of what works, from outfit options, what to eat, and where to be to see a great show, since you have a lay of the land, you tend to be more confident in your decisions. Still tired as hell from all the walking!

Day 3 - a zero f**k day. You finally made it to the last day!! At this point you’re so tired, you aren’t in a rush. You already know how long it takes to get places, you have eaten a hearty meal, so now you can spend money on booze and water! but you will have a sense of sadness knowing it’s the last night before you get back to your reality!!

Manny has gone deep into the internet black hole to notice Wikipedia has become the go to site to find out about EVERYTHING. Especially when it come to new premieres for movies or shows. Seems a lot of people had no idea who Dee Dee Blanchard was until Hulu’s The Act. Dee Dee Blanchard was the mother of Gyspy Rose, a young girl who thought she was wheelchair bound and sick her whole life due to her mother’s own mental sickness. Same goes for Netflix’s new movie The Highwaymen. This movie follows the 2 detectives that were on the case of famed burglar lovers Bonnie & Clyde.

Nicky and Manny speak on the amazing influence Grammy nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle has on his community and the music industry. Nipsey was once a gang-banging Crip turned entrepreneur. Him and his business partner Dave Cross spent millions of dollars on a strip mall to help revitalize his home of Crenshaw. He was also working on a documentary on famed and controversial herbalist Dr. Sebi. Many believe his death was in connection with said documentary and that the untimely death of the rapper was in response to it. Others believed it was gang related. Conspiracy theorist and realist alike all know either way, Nipsey death was tragic to everyone.

Joe Biden: affectionate man or touchy feely perv? After former Nevada politician Lucy Flores accused former Vice President Joe Biden of being inappropriate all hell broke loose. Men and woman alike are standing behind Biden, saying that he is just an affectionate person. The ladies of The View also spoke on issue stating they are afraid that one day we won’t be able to give hugs, or even handshakes our if fear of backlash. Another woman, Amy Lappos also came forward to speak on her own incident with the former Vice President back in 2009. Lappos was reported saying Biden should step aside and support anyone of the many qualified women running for the 2020 presidency.

This week Manny binges failing restaurants and Nicky get feminist for the moms.

Manny has found his new favorite Gordon Ramsey show “24hrs to hell and back”. The premise of the how is in the name. Famous Chef Gordon Ramsey go town to town, state to state to help failing restaurants. The catch... he and his team only have 24 hours to do so. The show brings the traditional Gordon Ramsey treatment: cursing, tough love, harsh critical reviews, therapy sessions and of course a new staple menu. Manny enjoys the optics, the constant tug and war, and all the shade! Meanwhile Nicky explains how she can never get past the debt these restaurant owners have inquired. The show makes for a great lazy day watch. Would you ever go to a restaurant Gordon Ramsey fixed up?

“24 Hours to Hell and Back” - Hulu/FX/FoxNow

Last week Nicky and Manny discussed the famous college scam. This week Nicky observes some magazine covers with the famous moms (Lori Loughlin & Felicity Hoffman) smeared all over, and not one single father/husband insight. To add salt in the wounds, Dr. Dre posted a glowing picture with daughter and her acceptance letter to USC. If the picture wasn’t enough, Dre decide to take a jab at the whole situation, only to be shut down. Seems Dre and Jimmy Lovine made a hefty donation to USC for their arts & technology program. I guess his glass house isn’t shatter proof!

THEY ARE BACK! Nicky and Manny needed sometime off to wrap their minds around all the craziness! First up: Just like everyone else, Nicky and Manny got swept up in the “Leaving Neverland” documentary. And while the documentary was mind boggling, the alert of The Simpson’s removing their Michael Jackson episode from their archive, was.a bit shocking. Nicky and Manny theorize about why South Park hasn’t done the same. Manny brings up a great point about how both episodes reflect different triggering stages that may reflect Jackson’s behavior. what are your thoughts?
