In this episode, we sit down with Casey and Chris Casas, co-founders of Augies, formerly Mr. Sizzles, for a behind-the-scenes look at the lawsuit, trademark dispute, and partner fallout that brought them face-to-face with serious challenges all while dealing with the life-threatening situation with their Son, Augie. 

We cover how Mr. Sizzles started as a business venture between old friends that led to the legal case filed by co-owner John Pantalena, alleging misappropriation of assets, breaches of contract, and other allegations against Casey & Chris Casas. This lawsuit came while Casey and Chris were on a stressful journey to ensure their son received the care he needed as he suffered with a congenital heart defect and awaiting his heart transplant.  

Through it all, Casey and Chris Casas showed incredible strength, resilience, and determination. Instead of letting the lawsuit and business fallout break them, they used the adversity as fuel to push forward. Their story isn’t just about a legal battle — it’s about perseverance, loyalty to family, and the refusal to quit. They came out the other side not only with a new vision for Augie’s but with a stronger foundation than ever before.
