I was sitting here trying to think about what I was going to talk about on this week's edition of The Art of Lawyering Podcast and I thought a perfect topic was how to come up with ideas for content when you have no ideas for content.

Though, before we get there, I must admit that I was inspired by another article I saw today by the amazing AVC Blog (CLICK HERE to see the post I'm talking about on my Facebook page - and then like my Facebook page).

The article makes a point to say that pros generate content, even when they don't want to. And you have to do that too.

I came up with 6 ways to beat writer's block. If you want to start a law firm the right way, or if your law firm is struggling and you aren't valium online india sure what to do, start making content. Law firm marketing is all about showing up in front of people that need you. Content will do that for you.

Free Write;

Keep a list of potential topics;

Newsjack;

Steal ideas from other bloggers;

Sit down and don't get up until you've created something even if it sucks;

I can't remember the sixth one so you'll have to listen to the show!

Why is this important for you? If you are trying to create content in any meaningful way you are going to encounter writer's block. There are going to be days when you don't want to do anything.

I've just given you a ton of ideas so you don't ever have to worry about not having something to write about.

So, get to writing! You now have no excuse.

This is a listener question that I thought most of you would have if you where thinking about how to start a law firm.

The question is:

I feel like I'm in a little bit of a dilemma in regards to how I should spend my ad words budget. As mentioned, I have been moving from doc review to solo trying to get my solo plane off the ground. As such I haven't specialized yet.

I had someone tell me to focus on (1) DWI/criminal defense to bring cash in as a springboard (but I don't have much criminal defense experience); I've tried to get (2) entertainment law clients-but they don't pay well; I've done a couple (3) wills and have some opportunity to do that-but it seems like using ad words there is a waste; and finally I've been doing a bunch of (4) trademark related things, but they end up being low paying without much follow up conversion opportunity.

If you were going to spend $1000 on adwords to start bringing in business, where would you start?

Today's guest on The Art of Lawyering Podcast is someone I've spoken to several times on my old podcast and I'm excited to be able to have him on again to talk about how to start a law firm the right way.

If you don't know anything about RJon, here's the short and sweet version. He used to be a lawyer but didn't really like it. He stumbled upon the Law Office Management section of the Florida Bar and started working there. After a couple of years he started his own company and released a product called The Law Firm Revenue Doubler. That's where I first met RJon.
