Growing up in her home country of Jordan, Bana says she lost herself somehow. A typical happy childhood changed into teenage years of depression and anxiety. Bana can not point to an exact time or experience that brought it on; it just crept up on her over the years.
Two years ago, at the age of 28 and now living in Australia, Bana was diagnosed with ADHD. The diagnosis has been a part of Bana's healing journey that she has taken since the pandemic and the loss of her mother.

Bana now has a vision to help close the gap between the people with all the power and wealth and those with nothing. It's a huge mission, but Bana believes in the power of love and connection. J Lynn was my guest in May 2023 for the episode 'The Messy Middle'. At the time, J Lynn had suffered several life-changing setbacks and was finding life difficult.

J Lynn is a young woman I greatly admire, and I wanted to find out how she is doing these days. Unfortunately, she has suffered more setbacks, but still she feels better than ever.

J Lynn says it's not about having a perfect mindset. It's more about taking responsibility for your life. It's knowing when something isn't working and having the courage to change direction, even change your life.

At the age of 28, Lisa was diagnosed with Crohns disease.  Crohns is a very nasty and debilitating illness of the digestive system. Initially, the illness was brought under control with heavy-duty drugs. Not wanting to have to take medication long-term, Lisa had heard about people who had successfully managed their illnesses with health and nutrition changes. This seemed like an obvious path to explore.

After deep research and making changes, Lisa managed to come off all of her medication and manage the illness through a healthy lifestyle. Realising she could now help other sufferers, Lisa published her book 'The Meal Deal'.

Taking her studies further, Lisa became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness coach and completed a sleep, stress, and recovery certification.

Lisa talks about her journey back to health, her coaching tools and how she has conquered her self-confidence issues.

Many of my guests have rebelled against their upbringing, but not Prinitan. Prinitan accepted life as it came.

Born in India, Prinitan was brought up to believe that girls should not speak too much as they were here to serve. You kept your opinions to yourself.
She tells us that she didn't have confidence as she didn't know what that was.

When Prinitan suffered the loss of two people who were very close to her, she found solace in spiritual self-help books. She couldn't discuss her feelings with her family, so these books were her go-to when she faced any issue.

When Prinitan went to live in Canada, she was diagnosed with ADHD. By then, she was 43. She had already commenced working with neurodivergent children and now she realised why she connected with the children so well.

Prinitan believes that each issue we face in our lives makes us stronger.
Now, Prinitan is helping other women face their own issues through her coaching and her work with Seva 4 Women.

Growing up in Sudan, Howaida's life was mapped out for her. She would marry, have children, and spend her days serving her family—that is the role that Sudanese women play in society. Howaida didn't want that life.

Why was she not born a boy? Howaida became very depressed. She could see no way out.
Then her father moved her to the UK, and life changed.

Alan Cheng never thought he would have a career in teaching due to his lack of confidence. After finishing University, Alan decided to take a gap year and figure out his purpose in life. He travelled to China from the UK and took a job teaching English to Chinese students.
Although he had not intended to pursue a career in teaching, he fell in love with it and continued teaching when he returned to the UK.

Alan feels that teachers in the UK are not supported enough, and consequently, there is a large drop-off in first-year teachers. 'The chance to help people feels precious to me', Alan said, so he became a certified life coach for teachers. Alan is one of only a few teacher coaches currently.

As well as teaching and coaching, Alan also has a podcast called 'Ordinary Teachers and Students' so that he can expand his help to teachers and students across the world.
