The Good News that the angels gave to the shepherds when Jesus was born, was that there would be peace for those that receive Him as their Savior. Today, Pastor Ed will be explaining what this word peace means, as he gives us the Hebrew and Greek translations. The peace of God is the realization that your sins have been forgiven once and for all. Do you remember the moment you got saved, when that burden of guilt was lifted and you felt that peace? Only the born again believer can have this peace.

As Christians we are ambassadors for Jesus. The question is, do others see Jesus living inside of you? Today, Pastor Ed will be exhorting us to have an intimate relationship with the Lord so that we can be so filled with His love, that we can pour out into others. If you're struggling with your relationships with other people, like your family, friends, or co-workers, chances are, your relationship with God isn't so good either. When your vertical relationship is good, all your horizontal relationships thrive as well.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be explaining how our hope in Jesus will give us peace and joy even during tumultuous times. Jesus came first to the Jew, and then went to the gentiles. Now we have hope in the Messiah and can rejoice in knowing that we will one day see Jesus face to face in Heaven. God all along had a plan for everyone in the world, not just the Jewish people. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son. This is the good news we can have hope in!

Have you noticed that we now live in a society that believes they are entitled everything? Today, Pastor Ed will be reminding us that we are not entitled anything. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights. God is the one who has chosen to bless us, even though we are sinners and don't deserve anything good from His hand! We ought to have a sense of gratitude, not entitlement. As Christians we should only have a sense of thankfulness.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching, he'll be reminding us that we can have faith in God, but may lack appreciation for Him. In our text today, we see many people flocking to Jesus because they believe He can perform miracles and many were just looking for a blessing, not God Himself. There are many today that believe in God, but have not truly received Jesus. If you come to God just for blessings, you're missing the whole point of having a relationship with God.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be reminding us that when we understand that the sole purpose of the birth of Jesus was to die for us, it will result in a Holy lifestyle. If you truly understand that God loves you so much, to the point of death, then it won't be so easy to live for the flesh. Those that believe that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of His birth, and will ultimately fulfilled the prophecies of His Second Coming, they will keep themselves pure just as He is pure.

The story of the birth of Jesus is one of the most extraordinary examples of humility. God humbled Himself and left His throne of divinity to became a baby in a dirty manger to die for sinners. Today, Pastor Ed will be explaining how this historic event of the birth of Jesus proves how great and vast God's love is for us. If your ever being tempted by the enemy to doubt God's love, just remember the birth and death of Jesus. He didn't have to do it, but He did because He loves you individually.

It has been said that God's commands are God's enablements. What this means is that if God has commanded you to do something, He has already given you the power and ability to carry it out. Today, Pastor Ed will be encouraging us to have faith that God has given us the power of His Holy Spirit to strengthen us for any task He has called us to do. The Bible say's: “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit say's the Lord of hosts”.

Today, Pastor Ed will be encouraging us to apply patience to our hope in God's promises. We can't always expect everything to come to pass on our timing, or for our convenience. Everything happens in God's good timing and we have to trust in Him. There have probably been many times we have prayed for things and had hope that God would answer certain prayers, but for our own good, God held off on answering them. Just remember that God is good and He wants whats best for you.

As Pastor Ed continues his teaching series, he'll be exhorting us to live as though Jesus can return to the Earth imminently. The early Church focused greatly on the Lord's death and resurrection, but they didn't forget the importance of His First and Second Coming. Many times we get so caught up in the affairs of this life, we lose focus on the fact that the Lord can return at this very moment. Will you be ready if He came for His Church today?
