This episode features Teena Murray who is the Vice-President of Health & Performance with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. Prior to joining the Kings, Teena spent 14 years as Director of Performance at the University of Louisville where she and her team built a premier program in collegiate athletics. During her time at Louisville Teena was also an adjunct lecturer in the College of Health and Sport Science and held an associate appointment in the Department of Bioengineering. Her performance team established a respected international mentorship program, and a leading performance analytics division in partnership with Catapult. In her role with the Kings, she is building a high-performance team of elite practitioners and implementing a high-performance model to optimize the integrated delivery services for Kings’ players. She brings over 24 years of experience as an educator, researcher, mentor and practitioner to the industry. Prior to Louisville, she held positions at Cornell University, and the University of Connecticut and she has consulted with several NHL teams, the International Ice Hockey Federation, and the Turkish Basketball Federation, and from 2006-10 was the Director of Performance for the U.S. Women’s National and Olympic Hockey Teams. She is a proud native of Shawville, Quebec, Teena, and her partner Kellie and their two daughters now reside in Sacramento.
