  • Post Launch CEO Wellness

Welcome back to another episode of Building Unapologetically!

Today we're talking all things launching. Let me tell ya - it's a process. It is a THING!

In this episode I wanna take you through my strategies from my recent launch of the Courageous Content Academy (CCA).

Doors close at midnight TONIGHT (January 31st) so hit me up in the DM-s if you still got questions!

My launch rituals fall into two buckets - systems and self-care.

    On the systems side:

    • A detailed playbook we created to execute the launch smoothly
    • Limiting external meetings and projects during launch season
    • Defining clear team responsibilities

Shout out to my team - they really showed OUT during this launch time!

    On the self-care side:

    • Daily devotionals and affirmations to feed my soul
    • Wellness practices like acupuncture, massages and infrared sauna sessions
    • Prioritizing quality time with family before launch craziness starts
    • Unplugging for 48 hours once the cart closes

I hope these rituals give you some ideas for your next launch.

Thank you as always for tuning in! Now go out there and secure them bags!

  • Is Your Content Missing the Mark? - Come to Live Training

On this week's episode of Building Unapologetically, I'm getting real with a gentle drag about why your content might not be converting like you deserve, boo.

As I always say, clarity, content, consistency is the name of the game when it comes to next level content. So in this gem droppin' ep, we are putting your content under a microscope using my signature 3C method.

Here are the reasons your content might be missing the mark:

    • You're talking to everyone, attracting anyone. No more shouting generic content that speaks to everyone, hoping your dream client tunes in. Get crazy clear on who lights you up so they feel like your content was made for them.
    • All value, no destination. I know you're bringing the value bombs, but don't leave your audience hanging! Every piece of content needs a clear next step, even if it's just engagement. Give them a path to follow from value town to your offers.
    • Fear of crickets. Don't let low engagement shake your confidence. Post fearlessly, follow up relentlessly, and push past the discomfort. Some of my best students got clients from posts with barely any interaction. Let that sink in.

Want to learn even more about creating show-stopping content that sells? Don’t miss my free live training event on January 23rd and 24th - Social Media That Sells.

In this free virtual workshop, I will teach you my 3 secrets to content that converts, allowing you to:

    • Confidently attract your dream clients
    • Craft valuable content that also sells your offers
    • Achieve consistency without burning out

You’ll walk away with practical strategies to authentically connect with your audience, create content that resonates, and sell out your offers with confidence... Just like I did!

If you’re ready to go from missing the mark to making an impact, secure your seat at Social Media That Sells now. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

  • Overthinking Overload: My Journey to Clarity & Confidence

Hey hey! It's your girl Jourdan with a fresh new episode of Building Unapologetically. Today's episode is all about one of the biggest hurdles we face as business owners - overthinking. I'm sharing my personal struggles and dropping four strategies that have been game-changers.

    1. Focus on the Mission, Not the Metrics

When overthinking paralyzed my content creation, I shifted focus. I was freaking out about my content until I got laser focused on who I was serving. Now I create for my one woman and let the metrics fall where they may.

    2. Find Strength in Community

Whether in faith groups or online communities, surrounding myself with like-minded individuals has been a game-changer. Having a squad that reassures you, saying, "Girl, that's normal," is a sanity saver. If you're not in a community, get in one, or better yet, start your own!

    3. Invest in Mentorship

Mentorship is the holy grail. Investing in someone who's walked the walk and achieved what you're striving for is a shortcut to success. If you don't bet on you, who will?

    4. Empower Yourself Through Daily Challenges

Every day, do something that scares you a bit. Respond to that message left on seen, go live for the first time, introduce a new service. Doing something that scares you builds the trust bank with yourself.

Eliminating overthinking isn't about perfection; it's about progress. These strategies have made me bolder, more courageous, and significantly less in my head.

Before we wrap up, a huge shoutout to Tiona Tyri for the awesome podcast review! Your words mean the world.

Anyways, I hope these strategies infuse a fresh wave of confidence into your journey.

If you're not subscribed, hit that button, and stay tuned for next week's fire announcement. Until then, keep building unapologetically.

  • Content Cashflow - My Winning Strategy for 2024

Happy New Year, everyone! I can feel the energy shifting, and I'm thrilled about all the possibilities this year holds. In this episode, I'm diving into our content strategy for 2024, focusing on four key areas that will set the tone for a successful and intentional year.

    1. Planning:

I've realized that although I planned in the past, there's always room for improvement. This year, my goal is to plan my content at least a month in advance. Planning in advance removes the stress and mental clutter, allowing for a more organized and intentional approach to content creation.

I've even created a free resource, the Profitable Content Roadmap.

It's a comprehensive guide to help you plan your content effectively.

DOWNLOAD THE PROFITABLE CONTENT ROADMAP HERE

Actionable tip: Dedicate time this week to plan your content, whether you're using a digital calendar, CRM, or a good old-fashioned paper planner.

    2. Connection:

I've noticed that I need to be more intentional about this aspect in 2024.  Engaging with your existing audience is just as important as gaining new followers.

Actionable tip: Take time to engage with your current audience. Respond to comments, send thank-you messages, and explore new ways to connect, like creating exclusive content for specific groups.

    3. Selling:

Shifting the mindset around selling is crucial. It's not about being pushy; it's about serving your audience. I'mma sell this year, and you should too!

Actionable tip: Make it a goal to have a weekly post dedicated to showcasing your offer. Use different formats such as reels, live videos, or carousels. The Profitable Content Roadmap has detailed content breakdowns for various platforms.

    4. Authenticity:

In 2024, I'm focusing on creating more content that reflects the authentic me. This includes more face-to-camera videos, behind-the-scenes updates, and transparency about my business journey.

Actionable tip: Identify a type of authentic content you've been wanting to create and schedule it this month. It could be a podcast episode, a reel, or a live video. Embrace the authenticity that aligns with your comfort level.

I hope you've got your pen and paper ready. Let's make 2024 a year of intentional, impactful, and unapologetic content creation. Remember, the only competition is yourself, and the goal is to be 1% better than yesterday.

  • 23 Lessons I Learned in 2023

We are nearing the end of year 2023. What? Already? We've made it through another one.

On that note, I hope this special episode has you reflecting and celebrating 2023. I wanted to share some of the top lessons I’m taking into the new year. May they reach, inspire, and challenge you on your own journey.

    Here are some of them:

    • Staying grounded in daily gratitude. Yep, that simple practice keeps me going even through hardship.
    • Implementing systems across my business and home? You better believe it brings order amidst crazy seasons.
    • I’ve also embraced that MY voice must drive every aspect of my business - no matter the coaching or resources consumed. Don’t lose yourself or your vision baby.
    • Here’s a big one - shoot your shot! I got bold this year courageously reaching out  on LinkedIn and conferences. Though so scary, it landed me 6-figures in B2B partnerships!
    • Community is a two-way street. While I host spaces, I learned to fully participate and introduce myself in groups I join. No proximity without activity sis!
    • On the personal end, I recognize the importance of feeling my feels, not minimizing emotions. Grief is ongoing and I let therapy sustain me while building my thing.
    • I’m believing BIGGER for 2024! More lives changed, more territories reached. But it takes focused work + faith.

Tune in to the episode to hear more of the lessons I learned in 2023.

    What lesson landed with you?

What’s your word entering the new year?

  • Stop Winging Your Content: Start Doing These 3 Things

Welcome to another episode of Building Unapologetically! Today we're diving deep into content strategy.

Let's talk about this whole "winging it" situation.

I get it; we all want to put our content on autopilot, but it's time to kick it up a notch. No more random posts when the wind blows north or you're feeling cute. We're in business, and content is our powerhouse for leads. It's time to be intentional, plan ahead, and set it on autopilot.

You feel me? I know you do. Now, let's get into three things you should START doing so that you are not winging your content.

But before that, CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR FREE PROFITABLE CONTENT ROADMAP.

Step 1: Monthly content check. Not just likes and shares, but what felt good to create? What made your audience go wild? And, most importantly, what content led to those conversions? That's your gold mine.

Step 2: Find your staple content. What's your go-to? The stuff your audience craves? Experiment, sis! Live sessions, day in the life, twitter quotes on a graphic – find what hits every time.

Oh, quick story – I had a client scared of lives, but we mapped it out, she went live, and bam! She loved it.

Step 3: Don't fear repeating yourself. Repurpose that content! Your audience digests info differently, so hit them from all angles. And offers? Talk about them more. Sell, sell, sell. Your business deserves it.

  • AI But Make It Authentic

Well hello, it's your girl Jourdan, back with another round of "Building Unapologetically." Today, we're diving deep into the AI world, and guess what? We're shining the spotlight on ChatGPT. Get ready, 'cause I'm about to drop some knowledge on how I roll with AI but at the same time keep it authentic.

Now, there are so many AI programs out there, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed, right? But no worries, I got your back. I'm here to break it down, spill my secrets, and help you rock ChatGPT in your business without losing that realness.

I'm about to give you three ways to use AI to work smarter and not harder -  plus a bonus – 'cause why the heck not?

    1. Instagram:

First things first – Instagram content. I'm all about batching those captions, adding them into a Google Doc for the week or two, then plugging them into ChatGPT. I ask it for a rating on clarity, effectiveness, and emotional punch. I also use it to enhance my calls-to-action.

    2. Email Replies and Inquires:

Now, onto emails – whether it's to potential clients or replies to inquiries. I draft that email first, then let ChatGPT do its thing. I ask it to make it either – professional, warm, friendly etc. It's a game-changer for leveling up communication, without losing the personal touch.

    3. Newsletter:

Ah, my newsletter – my pride and joy! After I record the content within the app, using voice notes - I spill all the details, and then I ask ChatGPT to keep as much language I use while organizing the email.

    SUBSCRIBE TO MY NEWSLETTER HERE

Bonus Round: Supercharging CCA with ChatGPT:

Oh, and here's the bonus – using ChatGPT to level up my program, the Courageous Content Academy (CCA).

I tell ChatGPT what the program is, who it's for, achievements, feedback, etc. Then, I ask it to brainstorm ways to make the program even more mind-blowing. You will be amazed by the things you maybe never though of on how you can improve your offerings.

And if you're curious about CCA or wanna share your thoughts, slide into my DMs with "CCA." I love to chat with you in DM-s.

Now, the key to this AI adventure is giving context. Feed ChatGPT the nuances, the quirks, the real YOU. And remember, you don't need to jump on the paid version unless you're craving more features. I use the free version and it works just fine for what I'm trying to accomplish.

If you loved the nuggets in this episode – and I really hope you did – show some love! Drop a review, rate the podcast, share this podcast with a friend, and let's keep this unapologetic journey rollin'. Your reviews mean everything to me. We hit over a thousand downloads, and we're just getting started.

Till next time, keep building unapologetically.

  • Ask Me Anything - Part II

Hey there, I'm back with another episode of "Building Unapologetically," and I'm so pumped for part two of our Ask Me Anything (AMA) series. Your questions have been fire, and your engagement keeps this journey alive. As we hit the two-month mark on this podcast, a huge shoutout to each one of you – your support means the world. Let’s hop on the four questions I have for today’s episode.

Question 1: Business Lessons and Insights - What would I do differently?

    • Alright, so someone asked if I'd do anything differently in my business journey. Here's the scoop – every twist, turn, and hurdle has been part of a divine plan. But let me drop some wisdom – always invest in your growth. From day one, I hired a coach, and that move shaped my business path. Another crucial lesson I've learned is to ensure that amidst the noise of expert advice and external influences, you never lose sight of your own vision for your business.

Question 2: Balancing Life as a Wife, Friend, and Entrepreneur

    • This is a topic that resonates with many of us. Finding balance can be challenging, and I agree that there's no such thing as a perfect balance. One of the strategies I've implemented is having a designated day for myself. At first, I called it my 'CEO wellness day,' then my 'healing day,' and now I refer to it as my 'desire day.' On this day, I focus on doing things that bring me joy and recharge my energy. It could be anything from shooting content, recording the podcast, getting a massage, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment alone.

Question 3: Have Your Relationships Changed Since Starting Your Business?

    • While my business journey has been transformative, my relationships have remained relatively unchanged. However, what has shifted is my appreciation for time. As an entrepreneur, time becomes a valuable commodity, which means less room for casual hangouts or spontaneous meetups. To navigate this transition, I’ve had to focus on clear communication and setting boundaries. I've realized that it's okay to prioritize myself and my business without feeling guilty or obligated to always be available. This has been vulnerable to admit, so I hope it helps someone!

Question 4: Tips for Creating Content in December

    • As we enter the holiday season and the final stretch of the year, creating compelling content can be both exciting and challenging. Platforms are placing a greater emphasis on originality and authenticity, so consider incorporating video content, day-in-the-life snippets, behind-the-scenes footage, and photo dumps. Sharing your personal reflections, lessons learned, and goals for the upcoming year can also resonate well with your audience. If you find yourself wanting to take a break during the holidays, consider batching your content in advance.

Alright, thanks for being part of the Building Unapologetically community. We're two months deep, and I'm feeling the love. Show some more by dropping a review wherever you are listening to the show and sharing your thoughts. Let's keep growing, nurturing relationships, and creating content that screams authenticity. Wishing you a week filled with love, joy, and purpose.

  • Ask Me Anything - Part I

Welcome back to Building Unapologetically! Episode 9 is special because it's the first-ever Ask Me Anything! Y'all came through with amazing questions, and today, we're diving into five of them. There will be a part II, since I got so many great Q-s.

    Business side of things:

Question 1: How to keep your audience engaged through stories and content in general?

    • Consistency is the name of the game, part of my OG framework (Clarity, Content, Consistency). Define YOUR consistency. I'm good with 4 posts a week—no need to be a daily posting machine. Stories are golden for that behind-the-scenes magic. Polls, questions, and call-to-actions keep 'em engaged. It's a journey, not a sprint!

Question 2: What's the biggest hang-up for entrepreneurs on social media?

    • Overthinking is the biggest vibe killer. Drop that overthinking baggage. Focus on the mission, not the metrics. Be unbothered and post with purpose. Remember the fearlessness of early social media days, when we used to post pizza nights, hanging out etc? Bring that energy back!

Question 3: When your partner isn't a business owner, how to manage discipline and accountability?

    • Keep business and marriage separate. No turning date night into a biz venting session. Find accountability you need in communities. Grateful for my techie hubby holding it down when things get south!

    Personal side of things:

    Question 4: How Are You?

    • I'm in the "let it be easy" vibe. Enjoying the white space on my calendar, thinking about relaunching CCA, and getting a puppy! 🐾 Life transitions ahead, and I'm feeling blessed and excited for what's to come.

Question 5: Staying Grounded in Faith

    • Reflect on past promises fulfilled, screenshot wins, and revisit the 'why' folder. Worship music, church vibes, and being surrounded by believers keep me grounded. Trust the process, even when it's crunchy. God's got the master plan!

Closing Thoughts: That's a wrap on Episode 9, Ask Me Anything part I! Keep those questions coming, and let's keep building unapologetically together. Love y'all!
