Josh sits down with Overeasy co-founder Eva Shaw. Overeasy is the proud makers of the HoodE, a pioneering form of headwear that acts as a removable hood and delivers a highly functional solution to keeping warm without sacrificing style. Like many innovative outerwear accessories, Overeasy was founded out of necessity, when Vermont native and ski racer, Eva Shaw became frustrated by what she had to wear to stay warm. She ultimately wanted gear that she could express herself with but perform at a high level. For those familiar with wearing a hood while skiing or snowboarding, this becomes a huge limiting factor in range of mobility. Since the HoodE is a detachable hood, you don’t experience the same limitation that you might find on your jacket. What’s even more refreshing is how many styles and fabric options are available to fit your vibe. There’s no question that the HoodE is going to popup like wildfire on the mountain and we’re psyched to see what else Shaw and the Overeasy team will come up with next!

Josh sits down with Greenbelly Meals founder Chris Cage. Greenbelly Meals makes delicious super nutrient dense stoveless backpacking meals. Cage dove headfirst into the backcountry meal game after stepping away from his stable accountant job to travel the world, starting with Asia and, shortly after, biking across New Zealand from coast to coast. His ultimate goal? To hike the entirety of the Appalachian Trail, which he did (like a boss). With all his travel and after tons of calories spent, it would be on that very excursion that he came up with the idea of a simple, easy, calorie-efficient meal. The time between his resupply points for food was 3-6 days apart so he was looking for low weight calorie dense meal and it didn’t take long for him to commit to fill his own needs. As soon as he got back to civilization he got to work and it wasn’t long until Greenbelly was filling the stomachs of happy hikers.
Josh sits down with Renoun Skis founder Cyrus Schenck. Renoun Skis is a high end-high, high-tech ski company with a one-of-a-kind technology that allows their skis to feel stiffer as you increase your speed. The key to this incredibly innovative technology? Their trademarked HDT or Hyper Dampening Technology which involves using what’s known as a non-newtonian material inlayed into each ski they make. This is something that has NEVER been done in ski construction world so, it’s safe to say this new tech is fairly groundbreaking. Josh had a chance to sit down with Cyrus to get the full scoop on how he decided to deviate from the classic ski building recipe and take a hard left turn with his approach to manufacturing skis.

Josh sits down with UnTapped co-founder Ted King. UnTapped makes maple-based energy products. Though you might not think it, that sweet succulent syrup is actually packed with nutrition containing amino acids, electrolytes, antioxidants, as well as being low glycemic source of energy. But why maple syrup? Before King became the maple guru he is now, he was (and still very much is) a professional bike racer, having ridden in just about every race you can think of. Being the only athlete from New England competing in these races, he would often get greeted to new places with quarts of maple syrup by fans to feed his maple obsession. After being fed up for far too long with the rough effects of energy products on the market, Ted resorted to downing maple syrup and in turn discovering the perfect alternative for the processed products he was used to. Since then, UnTapped has blown up and we’re lucky enough to get a front-row seat to the story behind the syrup.
