After Brian writes an incendiary anti-cop Facebook post, a Secret Service member bangs on the door and demands to inspect the Bunker. Brian and Jack are forced to decide how far they’re willing to go to stay out of trouble with the federal government.

This episode features Simpsons writer extraordinaire Bill Oakley as Secret Service member Burke Grastle. We reached out to Bill and were shocked that he was nice enough to come on our show! Bill is responsible for so many classic Simpsons moments and episodes! The popular Steamed Hams meme is based on a bit he wrote for the episode “22 Short Films About Springfield.” Bill co-wrote the amazingly prescient “Sideshow Bob Roberts” episode which pretty much predicted the rise of George W. Bush. (I almost wrote a paper on this in college because I was so mesmerized by the accuracy of the satire.) And who could forget Bart vs. Australia, an episode that gave us ‘doller-y-doos’ and Lisa’s line about the Yahoo Serious Festival: “I know those words, but that sign makes no sense.”

Bill has also worked on Mission Hill, Futurama, Portlandia, Disenchantment and a whole bunch of other stuff. He’s a genuine comedy legend. So the fact that he made time for us feels like a miracle.

Reporter Hazel releases an article that claims Jack is sleeping with his babysitter. Brian invites the babysitter to the Bunker to clear the air, but she’s harboring a secret passion.

This episode features Molly (last name omitted by request) as Nat the Babysitter. We didn’t know Molly before we recorded this episode. We met her online! It’s crazy what a good job she did considering it was such a random thing. The idea for Nat’s character came from a girl I met through a discord server while playing Animal Crossing. This girl was 19 and cussed like a sailor, looked like a princess and loved gaming. The contrast between her cute features and sassy demeanor made me think she’d make a great character. Molly’s interpretation of the character is a bit more genial, but her insane DND (Dungeons and Dragons) style tabletop RPG definitely captures the chaotic spirit of the real person she’s based on.
