Daniel Turner of Power the Future joins Jacki to hash out new Biden Administration study that completely debunks the argument that green energy is “free” or cheaper than fossil fuels. After looking behind the shoddy reporting on the study, we find that the Texas Public Policy Foundation was right all along:  From 2010 to 2019, wind received nearly 50 times and solar more than 200 times more subsidies per unit of electricity generated than oil and gas. The new report proves that little has changed, and most of the cost is stealthily hidden in your tax bill, not your power bill (ignoring this basic fact is how dodgy reporters can make the silly claim that renewables are somehow more affordable than traditional fuels). At the same time, the White House is prohibiting official travel to fossil fuel conferences. Jacki and Daniel suggest the White House attempt to hold a fossil fuel-free conference and paint the picture of what that might look like. - - - - - Newsflash: Electric Vehicle charging stations are powered by diesel. Hat tip to Energy Absurdity’s David Blackmon for cuing us onto this story. - - - - - Jacki gives the conservation update on the impact of wind farms on the whale and raptor populations, recommending “Thrown to the Wind,” a new documentary about the threat offshore wind poses to whales.
