    I got to sit down with my great friend Kasey Lanning, and man, was it ever fun to talk with her (like, 2 hours good)! Kasey is a 1st Lieutenant in the Army National Guard, has been a figure competitor in bodybuilding, a CrossFit athlete, and to top it off, a wife and mother of two. She doesn't slow down! We talked about everything: politics, social media, therapy, and what her role is in the National Guard. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing her perspectives and thoughts.

    Today I want to share my story with you on my struggle with depression and addiction. I was able to live through a suicide attempt, finally give up drinking, and find true hope and purpose. I pray that this episode finds people who need a story of hope and can be inspired to look for a way out of any hopeless situation. *Warning: Graphic Content* (Correction: when talking about my time in Teen Challenge, I said I was there for one and a half months. It was actually for sixteen months)

    Welcome to The Conversation Tapes! On my "unofficial" first episode, I share why I'm starting a podcast and what I hope comes out of it. Now I know in the recording, I refer to this podcast as "The Conversationalist," but after doing some digging, I found a few podcasts that already had that name. So from now on the podcast will go under the name "The Conversation Tapes." I want to avoid as much confusion as possible, as well as clashing with any other podcasters.
