Rather than constantly worrying about where you need to be in regards to life stages at a certain point in time and comparing/contrasting against others, learn to stay in your own lane and live life on your own terms.
Be aware of others in your periphery but fixating on them won't help you get to your destination, it will actually hinder it.
Do what comes naturally, the fast lane is by no means for everyone or indeed the most effective way to go about life.
Live life on your terms and find a lane that works for you.
Stop trying to keep up with others and also stop trying to slow down for others to catch up or to understand where you're headed.

Capitalist and consumerist cultures, encourage us to want and strive for more.
However, we often forget to be thankful and truly appreciate what we already have.
Compromise is a hallmark of any successful relationship, however, changing or hiding parts of your character in fear of the other person discovering elements of your personality is extremely detrimental.
With New Year and new goals in mind, I give my thoughts on an incredibly important and often neglected concept.
