  • Paba Cosmetics: A Mother and Her Two Daughters has built a cosmetic empire for women of color.

    Today I had the pleasure of interviewing the COO's of Paba Cosmetics. These two phenomenal young ladies have partnered with their mother in the family business. It's clear that they have a passion for the brand and educating their clients. During this interview we talked about their business and they also shared some product knowledge. 

    Daisy Badu & Princilla Asare are the COO of Paba Cosmetics Inc; a cosmetic brand for women of color by women of color. The daughters of creator and CEO, Felicia Sarpong, these sisters run the day to day operations of the Canadian side of the company.

  • Barbara Vercruysse: Living and Leading with Love

    Barbara has a powerful message to share and I believe she did just that. Barbara is a phenomenal woman and it's clear that she's walking in her purpose. She has so much wisdom and she shared so many gems during our interview. Barbara says "How can you know that you carry light inside you, when you're never been in darkness."

    Barbara Vercruysse is a coach, spiritual mentor, thought leader and public speaker. After facing several challenges in life and surviving a stage 4 skin cancer at the age of 32, she decided to live her second life at the fullest. So after running a successful 6-figure construction business for 18 years, she dedicates herself to her true passion now: guiding people through a deep transformation. She supports people around the world in leading a fulfilled life, creating impact and success by living and leading with love. One of her clients is BMW where she operates as a Quality Manager and Business Coach, she is responsible for screening all business processes and guiding people to perform optimally in their job.

    Having worked and still working with several coaches and mentors herself, she knows the transformative power of a personal coach. Once you open yourself up to being coached, you begin to receive the same advantages enjoyed by great actors and athletes everywhere, you grow so much stronger and you become more responsible for changing yourself. Empowering people, supporting them in taking their lives to the next level, sharing love, wisdom and compassion, have become her life mission.

    Today in the guest chair, we have Nikki Maybee, a woman who is as extraordinary as the styles she creates. She is the owner of Salon Simply Beautiful. Nikki shares her wisdom and passion for the beauty industry.

    The daughter of former Motown hair stylists, Nikki Maybee’s childhood was surrounded by beauty. This year, Salon Simply Beautiful, her Berkley-based hair, makeup, and nail salon, celebrated its 10th anniversary. As an entrepreneur, Maybee has learned how to balance her role as business owner, wife, and mother, and she takes pride in mentoring stylists entering the cosmetology industry.

    “I’m always looking for the next generation of talent,” she says.
    As a national sales artist/educator for Brazilian Blowout and a six-time Vote 4 the Best winner, Maybee values consistency and the ability to evolve. Ultimately, she says her role in the beauty industry is a labor of love.
    Nikki is married to her wonderful husband Chris and has a high spirited  son Max!!! Nikki enjoys in her  personal pastime rocking out to Prince and discovering nature's beauty via camping!!! Nikki’s, Motto is “Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
