In this episode, I share a setback that my 17-year old son encountered that caused him to stop and think about how his setback was a motivator and prompted some deep conversations that impacted his future. I also want you to consider some setbacks in your business and life and how they might be viewed as wakeup calls or motivators for change for the good.

When you look at your business and think “what would happen if….”, this opens the door to a curious mindset, which can lead to increased revenue streams.

If you are at a fork in the road and you are unsure of your next move, try being curious. It can change your mindset to be less attached and more creative.

In this episode, Cathy examines the idea of being “All In” energetically and with effort for business success. Those business owners who are all in dedicate their energy, resources and time to their business and it is successful.

If you divide your time, you will be stagnant in one or more areas.

Cathy shares a poignant example about how her sales doubled in one company when she closed another and how important it is to be focused.

Cathy also touches on ways to be strong enough to withstand the ongoing demands of business ownership.

“Trust is equal parts character and competence... You can look at any leadership failure, and it's always a failure of one or the other.”

In this episode, Cathy delves into three areas related to building trust: competence, character and authentic alignment. She springboards from Stephen M. R. Covey’s quote to ask listeners questions about their own competence:

How good are you at what you are doing?

How competent are you with your role in your business and the industry you work in?

Do you or your staff need more training to be trustworthy?

Your character is about what you truly believe, which leads into authentic alignment. Deep down, are you aligned with what your company represents and does? When you aren’t, often people can pick up on this and it can lead to mistrust.

This week I’d like you to consider these areas as it relates to you as a leader in your business.
