In sports, there are certain qualities that every top athlete possesses, and that are necessary to become the best. Discipline, perseverance, being able to work hard and to deal with setbacks, are some of those qualities, and these qualities are also transferable to the business world.
However, not all people that are successful as athlete, are able to make the transition, after their competition career ends. My next guest is someone who not only made this transition successfully, but who is crushing it in business and has developed himself into an extremely talented entrepreneur, besides still being an active coach and deeply rooted in sports.
Although he doesn`t need an introduction, here's a summary of his long list of achievements:
Jimmy Pedro is a Judo World Champion, and double Olympic Judo medallist.
In 2018 he became the first ever American judoka to be inducted into the International Judo Federation Hall of Fame.
Among many other achievements and honors, he was chosen Player of the Year, by Real Judo Magazine, 4 times!
Jimmy holds a 7th degree Black Belt, and as Olympic coach, he was responsible for multiple Olympic Judo champions, including Kayla Harrison, Travis Stevens, and Ronda Rousey, who later became UFC champion.
Today he is the president of FUJI Mats and vice president of FUJI Sports, 2 hugely successful companies with 8-figure revenues, and with Jimmy’s mindset and drive, he’s only just getting warmed up!
