Just about everyone has heard the story of the Magi visiting Jesus. Most often it’s depicted as a group of three. But, how many wise men visited Jesus, and when did they arrive? Contrary to popular belief, the Bible doesn’t specify the number of wise men or magi. Matthew 2:1 says, “Wise men from the east came to Jerusalem.” Their arrival wasn’t immediate; it was likely months after Jesus' birth. They saw “his star” and followed it. This was not a typical star. God did something unique and special, and the Magi recognized it as such. This light guided them to Jerusalem, where they sought the newborn King. The magi’s journey reminds us that God’s signs often lead us to seek and worship Him.
