Purp, like time, is a flat circle and we find ourselves back, once again at the end of a promising season in 9th place. Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn talk about the bonus home game against San Diego and talk about some of the high points of the season as Racing’s 2024 season comes to a close.
This week we're back after a much-needed break. We discuss the recent string of results for Racing, including losses against Kansas City and Washington, as well as the team's 1-0 victory over Portland. Plus we talk about playoff scenarios for the team and gush over Emma Sears' impressive debut for the US Women's National Team.
This week Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn discuss Racing's frustrating 1-0 loss to Utah, as well as look forward to next week's crucial match-up against Kansas City. Plus, a very special vocal performance from Tom to celebrate that win over North Carolina – prepare those ears, folks!
As God is my witness, Racing Louisville has beaten the North Carolina Courage! And Racing Louisville GM Ryan Dell joins the podcast just in time to discuss this amazing feat with Bekki and Kaitlyn as well as give an in-depth look at the Howell-Balcer and Turn-Beckie trades, how the club is building using NWSL experience, and how that new CBA is going to impact Racing moving forward. You don’t want to miss this one.d
After slip sliding away at Bay, Racing took it to Angel City in the best way possible on Saturday to keep playoff hopes alive and we're so excited we're releasing the episode a day early. The new kids on the block are hanging tough and making a huge difference already, so maybe all Racing needed for everything to click was a 20-game warm-up period?
On this week's episode, we battle through technical difficulties, microphone issues, and one overly purr-sistent guest while discussing Racing's emphatic win over Chicago and their disappointing loss to Seattle. Despite the result this past weekend, we remain excited about the direction the team is headed in. We also discuss the inconsistency of NWSL reffing and what we'd like to see from Racing's new signings.
Back in our first season, our two-part episode The Head and the Heart dissected the Ebony Salmon trade from both the logical, sensical side and the heartfelt, messy emotional perspective. It resonated with our audience in ways we didn't expect and for almost two years it was our most listened-to episode by a long shot. It's time for another Head and Heart episode because Jaelin Howell has been traded to the Seattle Reign in exchange for Bethany Balcer. This was a gut punch for Racing fans and Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn spend a lot of time recounting Jae's importance to this club, city, and even our pod. We also go into detail why despite the heartbreak, it was the right move for a club desperate to break out of 9th place.
In this week's episode, Bekki and Kaitlyn discuss Racing's results in the Summer Cup. How successful was this tournament & what was its purpose? Has the Racing ship righted itself completely? We ponder these questions plus we get excited for The Women's Cup and add even more songs to the Mint Mix!
It’s our 50th episode and we hoped we’d have a slightly happier topic of conversation. Unfortunately, it’s been a cruel, cruel summer for Racing. After losses to Bay FC and the North Carolina Courage, the gang is left wondering what the heck has happened to the club’s early season promise and chemistry. With the summer break here, can Racing cool off and use this time to right the ship, or do drastic measures need to be taken?
Racing didn't have the best week of games, but at least they aren't "shipping container fire" levels of bad! That's the big takeaway from this week's episode, where Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn recap the Gotham, Angel City, and Seattle Reign games and discuss whether their outlook on the team is glass half empty or glass half full. Are we being realistic or looking at things through lavender-colored glasses? Have a listen to decide for yourself!
