Butchertown Rundown: A Racing Louisville Podcast

Tom and Kaitlyn welcome our very own BTRD writer, Brendan Devine, to talk all about… that match against the Reign. Racing is officially off to their worst start ever, and injuries are increasingly something for fans to worry about, but the BTRD team still finds some positives amidst the frustration.

Racing opened the season with a 2-1 loss to North Carolina, so we ponder the question: is the glass half empty or half full? We discuss what went well in the match and what we hope will be improved upon for the next. Then we preview the team’s home opener against the Washington Spirit and add even more songs to the Mint Mix.

A fresh, crisp new season is on the horizon and we couldn’t be happier about it. Racing Louisville was unable to clinch a playoff spot in the last two weeks, so with one game left, it all comes down to their match against Bay FC.

After 3 straight losses it looked like Racing was down and out, but after massive back-to-back wins their playoff push is in full swing. On this week’s episode, Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn discuss how good it feels to beat Angel City and finally defeat North Carolina on their home turf. We also get into the team’s tenacity, the flexibility we’ve seen in their style of play, and our hopes for the final 3 matches of the season.

It’s now been three losses in a row for Racing. A mix of bad luck, bad officiating, and player injuries has dropped Big Purp out of playoff contention and at risk of dropping further. Tom, Bekki, and Kaitlyn are worried after this rough patch, but still have hope the team can turn it around. Listen now to find out why.

What’s in Racing’s control? What’s not? Tom and Kaitlyn answer these questions while recapping the team’s recent disappointing results against Houston and Portland. We also chat about what we need to see from the players going forward as well as how the team should adapt to the reffing in the league. We had a lot to get off our chests this week, so buckle up!
