The sound of romance continues this month on Butter With That! This week, Chrystine is bringing The Wedding Planner to the ButterCrew for discussion, and we got some thoughts on this classic(?) rom-com from the early oughts. • Legends of the Fall - Ep. 120

Do you hear that?? It's wedding bells ringing! Our very own Connor is getting married, and in celebration the ButterCrew are picking romantic movies to discuss! How cute, right? We are kicking off our new theme with one of Sam's favorites Legends of the Fall, a 1994 Western melodrama about the trials of the Ludlow family as they navigate the death of the West, a world at war, and a family being torn apart by death and avarice. Staring (the always incredible) Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ordmond, and Henry Thomas, listen as we breakdown the wild plot, gorgeous scenery, bizarre pacing, and truly whacky moments in this otherwise self-serious family drama.

There is so much to love about this movie, and about Johnson as a director! Listen to us discuss Ana de Armas' powerful performance, the best qualities of "who done it???," the unjust hate and vitriol thrown Johnson's way, and just how insanely good the entire ensemble is!

Thanks for sticking around this month to listen to us discuss some of our favorite directors! Stay tuned to see what our new theme will be next week!

Tonight!!! We have the fight of the century!!! You aren't gonna believe that carnage that's about to unfold before your very ears! This week on Butter With That, we are pitting the 1995 mini series Pride and Prejudice against the 2005 film...Pride and Prejudice. Cowabunga Butter Fam! It's time to close out our heist theme with an undeniable action classic - POINT BREAK! Who knew that surfing and bank robbing could go hand in hand so well?? Listen to us gush (once again) about Keanu Reeves and his chemistry with another Butter With That fave Patrick Swayze. In this episode we also discuss Kathryn Bigelow's incredible directorial prowess, the wild action scenes, and Gary Busey's insane performance and delivery. Also, listen to hear about how many times Swayze dove out of actual air planes (it's unbelievable).

  • Logan Lucky - Ep. 113

Happy new episode day everyone! This week we are discussing Steven Soderbergh's underrated heist film...LOGAN LUCKY. Starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and Farrah Mackenzie as the Logan siblings, they must team with JOE BANG (played by Daniel Craig with another hilarious accent) to rob the cash vault at a NASCAR race in North Carolina. LOGAN LUCKY has some interesting subversions of the heist genre and actually has a well executed "I gotta help my family" arc. If you are a fan of Soderbergh, heists, or Adam Driver (who has probably, no scratch that, THE funniest line in the whole freaking movie) then you gotta check out this episode.
