In this episode, we have Simran Silpakar.
Simran Silpakar is a very humble, compassionate and socially intellectual person. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Rural Development from Tribhuvan University and currently pursuing a thesis for her master’s degree from the Department of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies, Tribhuvan University.
She is working as strategic research and partnership officer in Center for Entrepreneurhip and Innovation. She has served at various non-profit organizations and enterprises since 2014.
She has directly worked with women entrepreneurs through numerous organizations like Hattihatti Nepal, SAATH Nepal, South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF), Burns Violence Survivors Nepal, Danfe Works Enterprise, and Didi- Bahini.
Presently, she is engaged as a Co-Founder in NGO- Astitwa Nepal which works with victims of acid and burns violence (ABV) and their children. She also has experience in the research sector and loves reading, traveling, and swimming.
In this particular episode, she explains the key differences between Acid Attack and Acid Burn Violence. She has shared many stories of victims of Burns Violence and Acid attack.
Straight to the point, this episode deals with the one of the most sensitive topic , about which the number of well-awared people are countable just on our fingers.
