  • S9 Ep168: Byte:~ Magical Portals Where You Least Expect Them!
Hi everyone and welcome back to your weekly dose of magic! This week, my guest Danielle LaSusa tells a tale of what happened after the birth of her baby, and how she experienced the liminal space that was left open after her baby was born.

A Ted Talk speaker, self-described Practical Philosopher and writer and in general magical human being, Danielle has witnessed more than most of us will in our lifetimes and is here to talk about it! You can find her writings in "The New York Times" as well as "Life Coach Magazine" and find her website here!  She has a "Mother Den" community to help support mothers as well as a book on the way-so to say that she's busy doesn't even begin to express what her life looks like! But luckily for me she made time in her schedule to talk about miracles and magic and her mysterious experience.

Thanks to everyone who listens and please remember-SHARING IS CARING...please share the podcast with those you love, those you like and those you don't know yet! AND REMEMBER TO RATE AND REVIEW!

This episode's bit of beauty is a print from one of my favorite mystics, William Blake! He was an eccentric and odd man and he and his wife were known for their nude sunbathing (quite scandalous in his day!). I love people who live life boldly and truthfully and don't care what other people think! This image, "Jacob's Ladder" is exquisite and imagines what Heaven, Earth and Angels and the journey we take after death...or the journey that the Angels take when they can't find an Uber! A mystic's view of the Heavens...which makes this reality even more beautiful!

See you next week for another episode of the podcast-and until then? Treat yourself well and witness something beautiful each and every day!

  • S9 Ep167: Interview ~ The Miracle of Kindness
This Sunday's episode takes place in Trinidad & Tobago-and my guest, Troy Hadeed, was struggling. A yoga practitioner, he went to the beach to practice with the sunset and there, in a lifeguard hut, had an experience that changed him forever! Troy was so moved by the experience he quite literally had it tattooed on his body-to remind him forever that it had really happened.

And I think we've all had these moments in our lives, of inescapable beauty. Things that stun us, catch us up short and gobsmack us with the irrefutable truth of the gorgeousness in the world. And Troy carries his experience with him and when he has hard times, goes back to it time and again to heal his heart.

Troy is a magical human and besides for being a yoga practitioner has a book out that is transcendent: "My Name is Love, We're Not All That Different." To buy it click here.
Troy shares how he views the world in this episode and really, much of it is colored by his colorful life. Here is his website for more about this delightful human being!

And yes, your moment of beauty! It's right here!  This song by Dinah Washington is simply stunning and whenever I need to downshift or take some time to heal my heart I put it on repeat! I hope you enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who listens and remember, share and subscribe to the pod!! See you all so very soon for the very next episode!

  • S9 Ep166: Interview ~ Angelic Blessings, Life Changing Help!
Sometimes it just takes one person to believe in us...for everything to change! And really, that's the story for this week and the miracle from my guest, Guy Morris.

Today Guy is an author, inventor, entrepreneur, diver, (he's swum with sharks, gahhhh) and Disney published composer (among so many other accomplishments!!). What hasn't he done? BUT, it is his early life and what he emerged out of that shaped who he is today and how he is in the world...taking big bites and enjoying every second! Guy has never met a challenge that he hasn't loved...and you can tell just by reading a bit more about him here, on his website! (a challenge like swimming with sharks? EEEEP!)

    Cue the "Jaws" DUH DUM...

The story is a simple one, but also profound. What does it look like when someone else gives us the tools to succeed. When someone else sees the potential in us, the heights that we might reach? These angels are everywhere...AND also YOU. We each of us have the capacity to become angels...and help someone else reach their goals. And that's the takeaway this week-and might make you wonder, how can I be someone's angel this week? and the week after that, and the week after that...

And a bit of beauty...that touchstone I talked about in the intro...a painting by Jan Steel called "A School for Boys & Girls." It's at the top of this page...and if you scroll down a bit you can get a bit more information about it.
I just LOVE the chaotic nature of this schoolroom and how the teacher seems a bit overwhelmed...as well, the other teacher seems quite happy to nap the day away. And once again, it's the woman doing all the work!! LOL There is a sense of finely controlled chaos...and dirt, and chaos, and mayhem...and chaos. It's my bit of beauty this episode and I hope you enjoy it!

See you in a few days for another episode of the pod!

  • S9 Ep165: Interview ~ NDE, What's On The Other Side Of Death?

What's on the other side of Death? It's an age old question with no real, solid answers. BUT my guest this week has come back after a Near Death Experience (known as an NDE) and she has some stories to tell! June Edward is a woman of many talents and is very open to reminding us all that on the other side? It's all LOVE.

Are we surprised by this? Should we be? So many religions and belief systems have tried to tell us, in the end all that is left, or all that should be in our hearts, is LOVE. June has many other stories to tell of course, but  here is another good reminder that this world and what's on the other side of it, should be filled with love. June, like most humans, is comprised of many different facets...she's a relationship coach, has many books (another author!!) has helped those with missing loved ones find them...and helped so many find sweet resolution in so many different ways. I hope you enjoy meeting her because I loved our conversation!

Here's June's website-I really encourage you to check it out!

This week I'm sharing a poem about love...by Maya Angelou. Please click here to read "Come and Be My Baby." It's a poem about our modern world, about isolation and how we, as humans, can find each other and find belonging...I just love descending down into the gorgeous world she's creating in this powerful poem.

Thanks for listening...and remember to share the podcast! Grateful to everyone who listens and everyone out there making this world a more beautiful place!!

See you in a few days for another delicious episode of the pod!

  • S9 Ep164: Interview ~ The Confederate War Ghostie! Supernatural Tales!
This episode is near and dear to my heart because my guest, JV Hilliard, shares a couple of stories about his parents and what happened right before they died. But it's the story about his mother, who suffered from memory loss, that hit me. Considering my father's condition, this one was precious. (It's his Birthday btw!!) And then JV shares another story about his young cousin and her imaginary friend (but really, was he imaginary? I think not!!) I don't want to ruin anything but it appears that ghosts can get lonely too.

I'm releasing episodes left, right and center, and that's because I have so many people telling me stories! So I hope you're ready for even more stories of hope, of magic and of miraculous happenings...cause they're out there!

JV is truly a renaissance man...just listen to all that he is involved in, and you'll get the picture. To see more about this truly remarkable human visit his website here!

And yes, I am going to share something I think is beautiful every single episode...so here it is! Click here!

I've always loved Frida Kahlo and this painting "Memory, the Heart, 1937" is so very perfect...because I've always felt that my memories are kept right inside that place where love comes from, where knowing comes from, where our secrets are kept. Our hearts are the engines of our dreams...and need to be loved up too!  I cannot even imagine how much more powerful we would all be if we listened to our hearts, our memory keepers and world dreamers! Let's all ponder that while we wait for the next episode of the pod!

thanks to all of you who listen and don't forget to share!! This pod is a labor of love but needs to be out in the world...

lots of love, from my heart to yours...until next time...

  • S9 Ep163: Interview: The Ghost At The Foot Of The Bed!
This weeks episode is a doozy and begs the question-just what happens when we dream? Or what's really happening in that liminal space between dreaming and being awake?
And dreaming doesn't seem to be limited to the human experience. I know we've all seen dogs running in their sleep and cats whimpering while seemingly dreaming. So all this begs the question...if dreaming isn't exclusive to humans, just what purpose does it serve? And don't get me started on that video of the octopus dreaming...it's astonishing and can be watched here!   I am a huge fan of octopi and suspect that like much of the animal and plant kingdom, they too are wondering when humans are going to get their crap together and stop polluting the oceans. It seems that all living beings are dreaming...perhaps of better days to come?

Elizabeth Corpion tells a story this week that is by turns haunting and provocative. And I don't want to ruin it for you but it should make you wonder...about what exactly is happening when we descend into sleep every single night.  Just this morning I dreamed about describing someone as being "like the color caramel" in a dream...and I woke up and thought, "hmmm, caramel COULD be a color..." and it could, couldn't it?

Michel de Montaigne said "Those who have compared our life to a dream were right... we were sleeping wake, and waking sleep." And how magical is that? If every moment is a dream, then do we really want to wake up? I know I really don't.

Please remember to rate and review...and share the pod. Grateful to all of you who listen...and see you so very soon for the very next episode!
