Mike Bruton is the president of the Idaho Falls Gem and Mineral Society. It is holding its 60th annual rock show this weekend at the Bonneville County Fairgrounds in Idaho Falls on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 and children under 12 years old get in free with a paying adult. Various activities are available for adults and children at the show.

Bridle Up Hope: The Rachel Covey Foundation recently opened a location in Idaho Falls. It offers a program to help girls and women dealing with the stress and pressures of life through equine-assisted learning. This method of learning helps inspire confidence, problem solve and other skills that can be applied to everyday life. Emily Sellers is the executive director of the Idaho Falls location.

Artificial intelligence is becoming a regular part of life at BYU–Idaho, helping students and professors brainstorm, revise and design coursework. While the technology offers valuable support, faculty emphasize that AI should enhance learning rather than replace the critical thinking and original voice central to a student’s education.

Starting this fall, Idaho Falls School District 91 will begin offering an online option for students. This online program will allow middle school and high school students to take classes online while still being a part of their school. That means they can attend clubs and events. High school students can take a mixed schedule of online and in person classes. Superintendent LaOrange shares details with BYU-Idaho Radio.

Elder José A. Teixeira, a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints told graduating students and their friends and family that when hard times come, if they hold on, the light will come.

Elijah Newell is a BYU-Idaho senior who wrote an online publication exploring the benefits of raising children without smart devices. He was inspired to do this senior project due to the impacts he has seen device addiction have on young children and his peers. He hopes the publication will inspire a change in young parents at BYU-Idaho.

An Area Seventy for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Africa just completed a major goal in his life, complete his education. Elder Dwayne J. van Heerden started his BYU-Pathway Worldwide education more than 10 years ago. He graduated this week from BYU-Idaho after completing his degree online.
