COVID and silicon shortages played a part in hindering cost reductions, disrupting supply chains and increasing demand for remote work solutions.

Chris has a funny story comparing this to buying the cheapest 2-liter soda at the store. Sometimes, the economy of scale isn't all it's cracked up to be, just like cloud services.
