With just a couple days before NAB 2018, Apple has pre announced the newest point release of FCPX. What is interesting is that this is not just bug fixes but also new features. ProRes Raw and Closed Captioning. Not the sexiest of features but upon deeper examination, both will, more than likely, prove to be very valuable to us as editors. Brad Olsen wanted to tell the story of the Launch and rise of FCPX in the post production community because he was tired of trying to defend his choice to cut in Apples newest NLE so he made a movie about the whole thing. It took him a year of shooting and another 6 months of post but “Off the Tracks” is now done and I for one am very proud to have put my name on this project.
