10.13.19 The Message: Wise Men Say. James 3:13 - 4:3

Wisdom is knowing and learning something, then using it in our lives. Right knowledge doesn't lead to right living. Knowing the right things about God doesn't mean that you actually know God. We live in a world that puts Self in front of everything. We have to one who lives in the wisdom of God not the world's wisdom. Watch your thoughts, because they become your actions, which become your character. Knowledge puffs up, but Love builds up.

10.20.19 Whispering Hope. James 5:7-10 There's something powerful about a hope that simply whispers. It doesn't preach, it doesn't grumble or seek its own way. It simply whispers its own hope and recognizes the struggle in a quiet hope for tomorrow that is a reminder of the presence of our King. He is coming, He is here. We are called to recognize that God is not uninvolved in the world but chooses to enter into it.

Faith is what guides us and helps us to see the world as Christ Followers to see what to do. What we believe should affect our behavior and interactions. Living faith isn't just what we profess, but what changes us. It calls us to respond, if you're feeling lost in your walk, look around and see what God is calling you to do. Where is your faith guiding you?

9.22.19 The Message: Give Me Your Eyes. James 2:1-13 Just as a horse and rider can deepen an understanding of what each one wants through time spent together and learning what to expect of their companionship, we can learn to be lead into what God "Leans" us towards through time spent with Him. He calls us to Lean into to His way of seeing people and learning to reach past our comfort zone as we reach out to those in need.

9.15.19 The Message: Listen Well. James 1:19-27

Being so quick to anger causes us to miss opportunities right I front of us. We love to be outraged but our words and actions do matter. Our words should line up with our actions to show that we are what we say we believe. We should Listen, truly listen and not just hear and walk away. We are to hear and by changed by what we hear.

9.8.19 The Message: Trials. James 1:2-18 You will go through good and bad times in your life as a Believer. You'll find that you are tested and strengthened to withstand more. Faith is not a shelter against difficulties, but rather a belief in the face of the contradictions that we see in life. When you are rooted in Christ, you are established and able to withstand whatever comes your way.

9.1.19 The Message: Our Testimony. 1John 5:6-15 Our Lives are a Living testimony about who Christ is in us. Jesus' life points to the life that is intended for us to live. We tend to treat relationships as throwaways, but we cannot go through life alone. We cannot simply walk away. Eternal life is not just in Christ after we die. It is now. We need to find meaning and pleasure in our relationships through Him.

8.25.19 The Message: An Invitation. 1 John 5:1-5

Love is an easy command but a difficult one to live out. Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world. One of the most difficult parts about love is that it has boundaries. Love God, Love Others. It is meant to be explored and expanded to further God's Love. Do you want to feel exactly how it is that Faith can overcome the World? Accept the Invitation.

8.18.19 Love Not Fear. 1 John 4:7-21 The opposite is Love could be said, is not Hate but Fear. Perfect Love drives out Fear. God is alive and real because we can see God in the way we love others. True Love is a love that is able to see clearly but is not passive. It seeks to grow not only itself but those it loves.
