During the COVID era,

we witnessed some of the most terrible behaviors from humanity. Many folks have moments during that time that perhaps they wished they could take back or could have responded in a different way.

This includes yours truly. At the height of the mandates, I thought I was going to get arrested for refusing to wear a mask. Another time, when I couldn’t see my uncle in the hospital and bring him chicken soup, I experienced a full blown emotional tantrum over folks insistence that I wear a mask and wear it in a certain way. We love our coffee and we also love the mic… as it has become a useful tool for communications…. PERO, sometimes too much coffee or too much talking can be a bit too much. And sometimes, the universe will put a halt on the things you love the most. This happened to me last year when I wanted to share and communicate so much, but my body and my voice had other plans…

And then when I lost my voice for 30 days, I knew that God was saying, “WOMAN, you need to yield and rest and respect that right now you can’t talk and you can’t sing.”

At the height of this experience, I was scared that my voice was going to be affected forever. No one understood why my voice was taking so much time to come back. I was very scared and grieving the possibility that I wouldn’t be able to sing again or even host a podcast. I was getting depressed. I missed end of year festivities and long awaited family / friends gatherings.

My days were spent living a quiet world. All I could do was receive words and input. I would walk around with a note pad and share notes…. And day after day… was the same thing. In the am I would rise and test my voice and no sound was coming out. The rest of me was feeling fine…. but no voice.

I had no choice, but to go into the void and yield and REST. And it felt like a dark void. I felt like I signed up for one of those silent retreats I would never sign up for…. After the sulking period passed, I started moving into acceptance and gratitude. I started developing a quiet routine which included finding Youtube teachers on different subjects to keep my mind active and in learning mode.

One of my all time favorite Youtube teachers is Tony Robbins.

Checking in. How are you holding up?

What a wild ride into 2025. Praying that your friends and loved ones are safe and sound. Praying for the most benevolent outcome. So much injustice. So many people displaced with no where to go and a lack of resources.

And we have questions. People feel very suspicious about what they are learning about these fires and the conclusion seems to be a concoction of a lot that has gone wrong with leadership, oversight, policies, politics, greed, arson, intentional and unintentional mismanagement and this is just part of the recipe that folks know.

What else could be behind destruction that could have been minimized had other factors been in place?

And since everything / news moves so fast…. Are we going to forget about California in the mainstream, the way we stopped talking about Lahaina, North Carolina, and other places in the United States that are suffering.

As you know, every Monday at 9pm, we host an X Space via our Cafecito Break channel with Mark 4 NY and Kozi.

I rarely share / talk about the Music Industry from my vantage point of Production Managing / Line Producing hundreds of music television shows for VH-1, MTV and BET Networks. That industry is soul sucking on every level, but good beautiful people do work in these places. I’ve met several and some of these folks are and will always be my family.

With that being said, I have developed a keen intuition about the television industry that has helped me understand the bigger picture and it's helped me develop a sense for patterns, for sensing truths, for sensing lies, for sensing things / stories that need more questioning and should require a more detailed thorough look such as the conversation about CONSERVATORSHIPs and GUARDIANSHIPs.

This is why today I am sharing this clip regarding Wendy Williams who spoke alongside her niece to the members of The Breakfast Club.

First of all, I’d like to clarify that I do not know Wendy Williams. To be honest, her style of show was never really my cup of ExpressSo, but it’s undeniable that there have been things Wendy has tried to share about the industry thru maybe humor and gossipy tonality that was really hinting at something dark that no one wants to talk about in the mainstream… Perhaps with Diddy being in prison and all of the allegations that are coming out, we may receive confirmations.

Nevertheless, freedom of speech and advocating for a person’s civil rights is at the foundation of Cafecito Break and I have to admit, I have been secretly worried about Wendy Williams and her GUARDIANSHIP. Why does it seem like she is being isolated?

She is at a facility in NY she says feels like a luxury prison.

Her niece is helping her speak out saying that the system is broken. According to Wendy Williams, she has $15, has no laptop, no cell phone, no one can call her at the facility, only Wendy can make phone calls and it seems that it is not easy for family and friends to visit her.

DOESN’T THIS SEEM CONCERNING?

Her GUARDIANSHIP situation is SKETCHY. Her family and fans have been concerned for years.

I pray that she finds the right support. Wendy Williams should have the right to her assets and should not be living like this. Something seems off about this situation.

Grateful for folks like Charlamagne and Don Lemon for using their platforms to help get this story out and light a fuse.

And I feel like God tapped me on the shoulder today to ask me to do the same.
