Cage Free Voices Online Learning is connecting students around the globe.  Thanks to our partnership with Set Them Free Initiative, on August 15th, 10th grade CFV Ambassador, Alistair Berry and 6th grade CFV Online student, Makayla Calhoun, will be interviewing Set Them Free Initiative students, Zeynep Girdap and Yusuf Burak to discuss Human Rights violations in Turkey.  "Refugee Children, Migration and Integration," is an episode that is eye-opening;  allowing us to see through the lens of children who have been directly impacted by persecution and turmoil in Turkey.  

Yusuf Burak Akay, born in Antayla,Turkey, is a 7th grade student who left his home country behind due to persecution on July 28th, 2018.  He made the transition to Greece and is now in Finland. 

Zeynep Girdap is a rising senior here in the United States at Smithtown High School East. Her mission is to raise awareness and advocacy through her work with Youth Island YouTube Channel while participating in the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.

What makes up one cell anyway and why do we need to know about our cells?  Can't scientists just take care of understanding the human body? Well, studying our cells helps us understand how the body functions and what can and cannot go into our bodies to maintain good health.  Do you eat organic foods or lots of junk food? 

Our students in Cage Free Voices Online Learning respond to these questions after participating in a full length lesson on cells.
