Happy New Year everyone! We would like to start this first episode in 2025 with a video episode to show our faces behind the podcast and why not do that on our Hawaii trip. Together with Gena’s family and her brother’s girlfriend we start a vacation that might be more uncommon for some people in their 30’s but we want to talk why this is not the case. Looking back, Richie probably had his most boring NYE in a long time. How are your travel plans for this year? We want to explore more within California as it is still a popular vacation destination for many.

Richie has survived meeting the endbosses of Gena's family for Christmas. After a short drive from Seattle we were transported to a snowy winter wonderland called Leavenworth which reminded Richie a lot of Bavaria. This Episode Richie and Gena are looking back on their long distance relationship. It’s not easy with a 9h time difference between Venice, CA and Munich. There are indeed some tips and tricks that help to make it easier. Gena has turned one year older and we have celebrated at a Pizzeria that did not make it into our “food recs”. As we are more and more getting closer to Christmas and the decoration is everywhere there is still not a lot of real winter holiday feelings in LA. Last year both have spent Christmas in Munich whereas this year Richie will get his first Christmas experience in the US. But both agree that they do miss the German sauna experience.

Back in sunny California! Feeling slightly dizzy after traveling to NY and Seattle, especially after the Thanksgiving meal overdose from Gena's aunt, it was a feast! Richie contributed with a german dessert. Gena is slowly defrosting in Venice while Richie made it to the LA Auto Show not missing out a typical public transportation experience. As it is December, Gena unveils the first bag of the Advent calender.

A few days have passed after having already a little rough start at the Hotel. Spending some time in New York City, at least Richie got to enjoy it a little bit more as Gena (aka Snack Manager) had to come here for a workshop. Still, good being back in the City she used to live for a few years. We share our opinion about busy NYC and the upcoming flight to Seattle for Richie's first Thanksgiving and how we feel about Gena losing her 1st class flight seat.

We've just come back from a little weekend trip. Escaping LA for a few days, Gena has picked out a⁠house⁠ we stayed at near Joshua Tree.
