You ever wonder about death? Ever wonder what others would say during your funeral? Sisters Alexandra hodge and Astrid Ferguson, tackle these questions with humor. Astrid being the oldest, shares she wonders about death more often, as she feels her body changing and sees her children growing older.

After a certain age we diagnose ourselves with cancer at least twice a day shares Astrid. With death being the topic of this episode and we always celebrate black American history, we wanted to discuss the case of Lauren Smith Fields. Lauren went on a date with a white male who she met on bumble and was pronounced dead the next morning. Her family was not notified by police. Smith family have been left without answers and are trying to piece together the events that led to her death. The smith family are demanding a full investigation. The man who Lauren Smith was on a date with and was last on the scene is not considered a suspect because he is allegedly “a nice guy.” Read more about this developing story and pray Lauren Smith family gets to the bottom of this case and find peace during this difficult time.

A 2018 University of Pennsylvania study found that reducing social media use to 30 minutes a day resulted in a significant reduction in levels of anxiety, depression, loneliness, sleep problems, and FOMO.

In this episode sisters Alexandra Hodge and Astrid Ferguson discuss Elizabeth Holmes former CEO of Theranos, Kyle Rittenhouse homicide trial and how inflation affects us all. Hence the name bloody inflations.

Every now and then, the sisters get together to discuss current event topics that seriously affect our Latinx and black communities. Kyle Rittenhouse was the young man with a riffle (AR-style semi automatic) who shot and killed 2 people at a Black Lives Matter protest and wounded another in Kenosha, WI. He is currently on trial and thus far one of the misdemeanor charges have been dismissed. The verdict is still developing, however, the judge seems to have a soft spot for Kyle.

Elizabeth Holmes startup lab-testing company was shut down after it failed to deliver revolutionary lab-testing amid allegations of fraud in 2018. Elizabeth was able to secure an enormous amount of capital from many angel investors with a company valuation of approx. $7billion, tampered with reports, used Pfizer logo to display proof of concept to investors, and even got Walgreens on board to begin using the compact lab-testing device. Last but not least, we discuss inflation and how it’s affecting all of us. Consumers are buying but not enough employees to keep up with demand. Which results in inflation soaring, revealing a financial crisis in our economy. This episode may require some pen and paper readiness as it is jam packed with information. November 10, 2021 How Puerto Rico is Excluded from Federal Benefits

In this episode sisters (Alexandra Hodge and Astrid Ferguson) catch up on a few life events and discuss the Supreme Court case that appeared uncertain about how to handle a federal law that denies disability benefits to U.S. citizens living in Puerto Rico. Yes, many are unaware that many of the federal benefits that U.S. Citizens take for granted are denied to US territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, The Virgin Islands and many more.

Therefore, in this episode discussions include what a territorial segregation case is and how for many years the US has denied/excluded territories like Puerto Rico from receiving the same benefits as citizens on the mainland. If the supreme court agrees to reversing this law, more than $2B would be owed to US citizens living in Puerto Rico. A crucial decision that would affect more than 700,000 people.

Moral of the story... check your benefits sis before changing addresses. The US has a way of cutting benefits for those who don't live in the mainland. It is not fair but when was law ever meant to be fair? Do your homework before losing your insurance and benefits you've worked so hard for.
