“I’m like, I can’t share my story with anyone because it will be minimized or I will be gaslit or I will be blame, or they would just throw a bible verse in my face, or there is the classic, ‘Oh I am sorry that happened but…’ there is a but…”

What if instead of being saved by religion, it was leaving religion that saved you? In this episode of Called to be Bad I talk with coach, writer, content creator, and activist Andrew Pledger. Andrew was raised in a Christian cult (IFB cult) and is a survivor of religious abuse. In this two-part series, we hear Andrew share of his experience of growing up engulfed by traumatic theology. He shares how he left his religion and is finding healing through therapeutic practices and deconstructing religion.
