There should be a 10 per cent reduction in excise duty on alcohol in the next Budget, according to the Drinks Industry Group of Ireland. It comes following research commissioned by the group that found Irish consumers pay 11 times more excise duty on beer than Germans and 80 times more excise on wine than French people.
