A parish priest’s appeal to the country’s bishops to issue one standardised guideline on funeral eulogies has been ruled out.
Fr Michael Toomey, a parish priest in the diocese of Waterford and Lismore said that at the moment, it depends on where a person dies and their parish priest as to whether a eulogy is permitted.
