There once was a little girl wishing to be
someone she couldn't be and foresee.
You know that girl, the one hiding tears,
swallowed by waves of unspoken fears.
"Be strong," they said, "don't let it show,"
so she buried the ache, kept her head low.
But seasons teach what silence conceals,
in winter's frost, and the heat that heals.
Her heart learns to be calm and wide,
that heart is now mine, no need to hide.
Strength in calm, I've learned somehow.
The girl I was, the calm woman I am now.
