We are not that powerful to destroy the earth. All those things are trying to take our attention away from the main thing, which is the savior. One day with the Lord is as a thousand years. People use this to say that it took God 6,000 years to this. This is not it. It is a prophecy to tell us the approximate time of how long God's dealings with the earth are going to be.

Why were they casting their clothes at Saul's feet? It'd be easier to stone someone with less clothing on. They wouldn't be as warm and could move easier. The stones were not rocks, they were very large. The fulfillment of Acts 1:8 was done in Acts 8:1. The church as a whole, was scattered. Saul was going into people's houses and dragging them out of their homes forcibly and putting them into prison simply because they were Christians. God hates sorcery. Simon was using sorcery and therefore he was outside of God's will. He was so far out there that he had people thinking that he is the great power of God. Then Philip was preaching and they believe what he told them and were baptized, including Simon! Signed gifts were from God to show that God has chosen them to be the leadership authority of the New Testament Church. It was God's sign to the people that they could follow those men.

He looked at us through eyes of grace and mercy, He purchased us! Praise His dear name!

Jesus has endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. Jesus has taken all of the stingers that were meant for us. He has caused Satan to be stingless towards us. The sting of sin is death. But thanks be to God that giveth us the victory through Jesus Christ. He took the punishment of death for us. The just shall live by faith. Faith is things hoped for. We haven't seen everything. We just believe it through faith. They that are in the flesh cannot please God. We are the children of God, then heirs, joint heirs with Christ. Hope that is seen is not hope. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God. We have each broken the law and are guilty before God. We each deserve separation from God and eternity in the fiery lakes of hell. However, those of us who repent and trust on Jesus Christ for our salvation, we will spend eternity in heaven, because Jesus paid the sin debt for us.

Jesus is the word of God. He is the fulfillment. He is everything that Moses wrote about in the Old Testament. Have you been through a dark time? It's during those dark times that you really come to appreciate the Light. We are living in a fallen world, it's a wonderful world because it's His creation, but we do live in a fallen world where the light is not shining like it should. God is not looking for part time Christians. We need to partake in Him full time. We have an adversary, the devil. He is trying to blind the eyes of folks so that the light of the gospel doesn't reach folks.
