This is part two of the Olivet Discourse series. This message covers what Jesus calls the Beginning of Sorrows. Jesus give us a list of things that must take place but do not yet signify the tribulation. This message covers three things in that list, they are as follows; 1) Deception 2) Wars and rumors of wars 3) Earthquakes and famines.

Today's teaching shows us how the Lord's heartfelt words spoken from the Mount of Olives came true. This speech is known as the Olivet Discourse. No one in the 1st Century thought the Magnificent Jewish Temple that had been in place for over 500 years would ever be destroyed. Yet the Lord Jesus told his disciple it would surely be surrounded by armies and trampled on by the Gentiles, leaving it in ruins and untterly destoyed. Today these ruins are a testimony of the truth spoken by the Lord Jesus.

Sometimes we like to say, "We love a good challenge." Well, today in Mark's Gospel we see the Lord give the scribes and subsequently us a challenge. Pray the Lord speaks to you as you meditate on his word in Mark.
