In the latest teaching of our One Na'on Under God series, Eric DiCicco examined 1 Samuel
2:12-36 in his message, “As the Family Goes, So Goes the Nation.” He highlighted the
profound influence that family life has on society, underlining that the attack on family values
is a deliberate strategy of the enemy. He gave us three practical things to fight back!
1. Faith must be demonstrated, not just discussed.
2. Correction without consequence rarely leads to change.
3. The Lord honors those who honor Him. (And sometimes it’s uncomfortable!)
Today we are continuing our conversation on the topic of relationships and dating. What are your expectations? What are your child’s? What are God’s? Tune in as we talk straight, and navigate through some of the challenges for today’s teens and young adults as they step into the next stage of life.
As part of our Under God One Nation series, Adam Calabrese delivered a compelling teaching
on 1 Samuel 1:19-2:11 titled “The Power of Prayer.” He wove together the historical
context of Israel with the personal story of Hannah, emphasizing how prayer was the key
element that reshaped the nation’s fate and Hannah’s journey.
Why does Calvary Chapel Chattanooga fly an Israeli flag? Should the Church stand with Israel? Does God have a future plan for Israel or has the Church replaced Israel? Is Israel in the process of committing a genocide? Does supporting Jews also mean we must support Zionism?
Over the last few months, our team has been asked these questions as the church is navigating the current situation in Israel and across our country.
Our Civics + Culture team is thrilled to welcome Dr. Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries, to come and speak about this critical topic. Dr. Myers believes that at its heart, this is a battle of ideologies, a clash between worldviews involving God, justice, oppression, religion and truth itself. Despite the darkness, hope lies in a biblical worldview that can promote blessing and flourishing, even in seemingly impossible situations.
Sex and relationships are not too taboo to talk about here! This week we will explore these topics through the lens of Scripture as the guys set out to help us see these ideas as supernatural and spiritual, and not merely part of nature. Let’s step in together and look at how God calls us to parent in preparation for our kids eventually having families of their own.
1. GOD CARES ABOUT HISTORY
2. THE SOVEREIGN RULER OF ALL THE EARTH; ISRAEL'S GOD USES MEN
3. WHEN A NATION DRIFTS FROM AND FORGETS THE GOD OF HEAVEN...THINGS BEGIN TO GO HORRIFICALLY WRONG ON
One of the most important aspects of parenting is shepherding the hearts of our kids. From infancy to eighteen, and even beyond, this crucial component seems to be ever changing in look, but not necessity. Check out this week’s episode, as the guys dive into this topic, and how they’ve seen it play out in their families.
