Join Pastor Phil Ballmaier of Calvary Chapel Elk Grove as he works his way through the Gospel of John on Sunday Mornings.

Today we continue in John, Chapter 19. THE HOUR HAS COME... We've seen Jesus stand trial in a religious court, and in civil court, He was beaten and wounded, just as the scriptures said... But today, Pastor Phil shares the fulfilment of prophecy. Where the Son of God, the Lamb of God lays down His life for all sinners. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that for those who believe in Him as Lord and Savior would have everlasting life. Is He your Lord?

Let's join Pastor Phil now for The King is Crucified-Part 2.

Today we continue in John, Chapter 19. THE HOUR HAS COME... We've seen Jesus stand trial in a religious court, and in civil court, He was beaten and wounded, just as the scriptures said... But today, Pastor Phil takes a closer look at Simon, likely a Jewish man on pilgrimage to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. His day would end far differently then what he may have planned as the Roman soldiers gave him the task of carrying the Cross for Jesus to Golgotha.

Today we continue in John, Chapter 19. The hour had come. Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate, while the chief priests mocked and cried out, "Crucify Him!" While Jesus reminded them, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

The chief priests and religious had clearly missed the mark! How many throughout history have done the same. Mocked Him, and laughed at those who love and follow Him?

Today we finish John, Chapter 18 following the morning of Jesus' arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.

He had faced the religious trial, but now faces the civil trial. But Jesus wasn't the only person facing judgment at the hands of Pontius Pilate, but Barabbas. Jesus would soon face the most cruel, and grueling of all tortures through no fault of His own. Yet He went willingly, in obedience to The Father, and out of love—yet it is humbling & heartbreaking to know that He had to endure it all for each of us.

It's been said, "Love held Jesus To The Cross."

Today we get a glimpse of the opposite as the soldiers mock and beat Him... The Hour Had Come...

Let's join Pastor Phil now for Part 5 of his message, Jesus on Trial.

"What Is Truth?"

Pastor Phil Ballmaier

9-18-22

Join Pastor Phil Ballmaier of Calvary Chapel Elk Grove as he works his way through the Gospel of John on Sunday Mornings.

Today we continue in John, Chapter 18 and the final hours of Jesus' life before the Cross. The Hour Had Come...

In today's message, Pastor Phil teaches on Jesus' trial before Pilate, the Roman ruler at the time. Scripture implies that Pilate was pulled in unwillingly into the plots of the Sanhedrin. He even pushed them to judge Jesus by their own Jewish laws, but they refused. Pontius Pilate even told them, "I find no fault in Him AT ALL!" Let's think on the question, "What Is Truth?" How does the Bible define it—and how does the world determine it?

The cup of sorrows would soon be poured out as Jesus stands on trial for His life. Though He had the power to strike out, Jesus knew that He had The Father's business to carry out. Today Pastor Phil takes a look at Jesus' questioning before the Sanhedrin. In retrospect we may take issue at how much the high priests missed the mark when recognizing The King of Kings and Lord of Lords—but can we not say we were guilty of the same before we knew Him?

The cup of sorrows would soon be poured out as Jesus stands on trial for His life. Though He had the power to strike out, Jesus knew that He had The Father's business to carry out. Today Pastor Phil takes a look at Peter's denial of Jesus. When Jesus gazed on him across the courtyard, what was on his mind? Perhaps, "I've failed you God and must not be Yours." Knowing our Lord, He looked on Peter with love and compassion, as He knew Peter's shortcomings. Just like He knows ours.

Today we continue in John, Chapter 18 and the final hours of Jesus' life before the Cross. He knew what lie ahead, and the cup of sorrows to come—and yet He did it all for us anyway out of love... Judas was one of the Twelve. He walked with Jesus for many years— sat under His teachings and yet when the time came, He betrayed Jesus. He betrayed Him with a kiss as an indication to the authorities, Who He was in the Garden. Let's join Pastor Phil now for Part 3 of his message, Jesus' Betrayal and Arrest.
