Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 8.
Pastor Phil continues in Romans Chapter 8, one of the most comforting chapters in the Bible—in fact it is God’s prescription for troubled hearts. Tonight we are studying two of the most encouraging and comforting of those verses. It requires us to know God's character, trust Him at His Word and know He has our life in His hands, and for His grand purposes.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."
    —Romans 8:28-29
    ***
Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.
Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.

    2-26-25
Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 8. Paul reminds of the promise that we are children of God, and joint heirs, because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. Paul encourages us to persevere with hope, knowing that the challenges and sufferings we may face in this world are just for a time...
In Romans Chapters 7 & 8, Paul continues to bring home the point of what the sanctification process is in a believer. In tonight's verses we see his reflection on his own heart and examines it in comparison to Jesus. That Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death.
Romans Chapter 8 is one of the most comforting chapters in the Bible—in fact it is God’s prescription for troubled hearts.
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 — Brothers & Sisters: Memorize this verse to use against the enemy of your soul!

  • 76. Romans 8:17 (1-22-25) - Audio
    76. Romans 8:17 | Final
    Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
    Pastor Phil Ballmaier
    1-22-25
Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 8. Paul reminds of the promise that we are children of God, and joint heirs, because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. As His heirs we share in His blessings, and likely share in His sufferings as His children.
In Romans 6 through Romans 8 we learn that because of the finished work on the Cross—sin no longer has ahold of us. That we are dead TO sin because of the finished work of Jesus, whereas before we were saved we were dead IN sin. Chapter 8 is one of the most important chapters in the Bible.
