As we open the Gospel of Mark, we learn how John the Baptist fulfilled the Old Testament prophecy of being the messenger who would prepare the way of the Lord.

That same truth extends to us today. God is God and we are not. He is still sovereign and we are still dealing with pride. Like Nebuchadnezzar, we are all tempted to rule from our little thrones, we all must learn that God is sovereign.

In Genesis Chapter 49 and 50, we see the final moments of Jacob and Joseph, two of Israel’s Patriarchs. We’ll also examine what Biblical forgiveness looked like in Josephs life and what it should look in our lives as well.

Last week, we learned that Jacob was ill (slowly dying). Jacob set out to see him, and he took his two sons with him.

As we study Daniel 3 we will learn principles for trusting God as we go through the fiery trials of life. We will examine what “real faith” looks like in a follower of Jesus. We will see that every personal trial is an opportunity to grow closer to Jesus.

In Genesis Chapter 47 and 48, the famine only gets worse. But God uses Joseph in a mighty way to bring everyone hope, even during a hopeless situation.

Daniel chapter two teaches us how to face difficult circumstances of life in faith and conviction which allows us to live in such a way that brings glory to God today.  It also prepares to face the future in knowledge that God is in control and he wants to reveal himself to us and the world around us.
