Isaiah's clarity. He saw the Lord, seated on a throne, high & lifted up, & the train ofHis robe filled the temple. But we note when this happened for him. It was in the year thatKing Uzziah died.

Ch's 2-5 are a proclamation of punishment & purification toward Judah & Jerusalem. If while we're reading through it you find yourself thinking, "Man, this seems harsh!" You're correct. It is. Jesus said it like this, "For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more."

Hope - horror, both are headed down the prophetic pike for this planet. The one that applies to you depends upon which side of the line you take your stand. Ladies - gentlemen let's understand one thing. With God, there's no such thing as -neutral ground-. You're either for Him or against Him. You either trust Him or you don't. You either love Him or you don't. You're either saved or you're not- At the end of the day there are no-shades of grey as it pertains to things like God's justice, judgment, sin - salvation.

Often, when we think of the -prophets of old-, we think of men who -foretold- the-works of God. But they were also men who -told forth- the word of God. They acted in many respects like a good doctor. They would diagnose the problem, prescribe the remedy - then warn of the ramifications of ignoring or not acting upon the prescription.

By the end of Luke 23, Jesus has been tried, crucified - laid in a tomb. The tomb has been sealed, a Roman guard -as few as 4 soldiers, but up to 16- has been set. A couple days earlier the religious leaders had approached Pilate about securing the tomb -until the 3rd day- to silence any would be rumors or deception of a resurrection. Because Jesus had announced on multiple occasions that He would rise from the dead on that day, Luke 24 is that day.

Throughout this letter, James has placed no small emphasis upon the way we use our tongues. So it serves as no surprise that as he winds down-wraps up, he exhorts us unto its highest use- prayer, praise - persuading others unto godliness. But the primary emphasis of this passage -by far- is placed upon prayer -being mentioned 7x's in Vs 13-18-. He exhorts us to pray over our suffering, to seek prayer in times of sickness, we're to pray - intercede for one another- - we are to pray fervently. Meaning, not hyper-emotionally, - not mechanically or absent mindedly, but sincerely, passionately, from the heart.

James Ch 5 opens w-a great concentration of condemnation. - If someone were to say, -Hey, I want to read you something from the Bible.- Then, proceeded to read these words w-out telling you where they were found, you might be prone to think they were the castigating rebuke of one of the prophets of old-
