The purpose of Chronicles is to bring hope in the future Messiah who will come from David’s line. While the history of God’s people is marred, it does not lead to despair. Chronicles helps us to look to the King of Kings, trust in His word, seek Him with all our heart, and let Him fight our battles.

Maxwell Maltz is credited with the quote, “You make mistakes; mistakes don’t make you!” That’s not true. Our mistakes will contribute negatively to who we are if we don’t learn from them. As we are seeing in our study in our study in Genesis, Esau was a profane man because he didn’t learn from his mistakes, and so he only compounded them. So what we want to do today as we look at his failures is to learn from his […]

Samuel Butler once wrote these lines about the worldly man: For truth is precious and divine; Too rich a pearl for carnal swine. Esau was a man who had little or no regard for the truth of the Lord. All he cared about were the things of this world, and today as we finish our study on chapter 27 of Genesis, we are going to see the cost Esau paid for his carnality. Here was this man who “sucked this […]

All of you have heard the old saying. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” In today’s lesson in Genesis 27, we are going to watch all the members of Isaac’s family participating in weaving a web of deception that is going to result in the virtual break up of their family. There are a lot of lessons that we can learn today about how family members are not to treat one another; but […]

As we will see in today’s lesson in Genesis 27, all of the main characters had selective hearing. And because of that spiritual issue they caused themselves all sorts of problems in the physical realm of life.  We certainly can learn […]

In today’s lesson in Genesis 26, Isaac will be confronted with a famine in the Promised Land much like his father faced decades earlier. But instead of running to Egypt like Abraham did, he will obey the voice of the Lord and go to Gerar in Canaan and he will be blessed beyond measure. By observing the Lord’s work in Isaac’s life during this famine we can learn a lot about how God can bless us even in midst of […]
