Throughout the OT, God continually reminds the Israelites that He is responsible for their very existence! That’s the basis for saying this word is spoken against them—they were saved (redeemed) from slavery to Egypt and, it follows, they are now slaves to God…God is declaring that His delivery of them obligates them to being obedient to Him.
