Religion—observing rules and thinking yourself justified before God—is a trap of the devil. If he can’t get you to go back into your old lifestyle, he will try to make you religious. Paul says none of these things matter. What matters, is only this: where is your heart with Jesus?

Complacency, being way-too casual in our walk with the Lord, is one of the devil’s greatest weapons… I know you hear this all the time but it is vital: God is holy and we dare not approach Him at ease. We dare not take for granted what He has done and forfeit that sense of awe even being in the presence of God.
