Calvary Chapel Old Bridge

In a world full of noise, pressure, and shifting values, Scripture reminds us of our real identity and purpose.

In this message, Pastor Lloyd examines Paul’s response to the foolish accusations made against him by false teachers. Scripture warns us not to answer a fool according to his folly, yet there are times when wisdom calls us to speak up so that foolishness is not mistaken for truth. Paul reluctantly defends himself—not to boast, but to protect the Gospel from those seeking to undermine it. Despite enduring intense hardship, persecution, and suffering for Christ, Paul learned humility and discernment through these trials. His example reminds us of the true danger of foolishness and the importance of standing firm in God’s wisdom and relying on His strength, not our own.

In this message, Pastor Lloyd warns believers to be alert to false teaching and the subtle nature of demonic warfare. The enemy uses deceitful doctrines and clever schemes to draw people away from the truth of God’s Word. Paul urges believers to resist deception by standing firm in the gospel—Jesus Christ and Him crucified—the truth that alone sets us free.

Together, we’ll lift our voices in heartfelt praise—giving honor and glory to our Lord. The evening will begin with prayer and a reading of Psalm 100 led by Pastor Robert, followed by a devotion from Pastor Lloyd, communion, and a testimony from one of our elders.

Spiritual warfare is real and often subtle. Paul urges believers to submit to God, cast down arguments against Christ, and take every thought captive. Pastor Lloyd explains how even modern technology can become a tool the enemy uses to distract us from God. In a world full of noise, victory comes by keeping our minds anchored in Christ and relying on God’s strength.

We invite you to a special 40-Year Celebration of God’s faithfulness at Calvary Old Bridge, as well as a warm welcome to those who are new to our fellowship.

This message explores 2 Corinthians 9 and the way Paul describes generosity as the natural overflow of a heart shaped by God’s grace. The focus is on how cheerful giving springs from gratitude rather than obligation, and how God supplies the seed, multiplies the harvest, and uses believers’ gifts to produce thanksgiving and glory to His name. The sermon highlights the spiritual freedom that comes from grace-driven generosity and shows how an overflowing heart impacts attitudes, strengthens faith, and becomes a testimony of Christ’s love in action.

A character study based on an overview of 1 Kings 17-19

God calls His followers to be willing and cheerful givers and servants! Pastor Lloyd emphasizes that God values a willing heart to give more than a sense of obligation. Our hearts reveal where our true treasures lie, and too often, money becomes the greatest competitor for our hearts of worship. In this message, discover how giving with a joyful and willing spirit honors God, strengthens your faith, and aligns your heart with Christ’s selfless love.
