2. Can you think of a stormy situation that challenged your faith? How does that affect your faith as you face greater, more challenging storms? Maybe you are in a storm now and need some encouragement and prayer. How can we pray for you?

You may or may not have had a radical conversion to Christ like the demon possessed man here in Matthew chapter 8 and Mark 5, but what is your reaction to what Jesus told him about going back home to share with his family? Have you tried to do the same thing? What has been your experience in sharing Christ with your family?

2. Read Revelation 3:14-22. If you were to gauge your temperature with 1 being cold, 10 being hot and 5 being lukewarm, what would your temperature be? What does hot or cold mean to you in this illustration?

3. Is there something that God has been asking you to be obedient to and yet you have been unwilling to surrender it to Him? Take a moment to and ask what that might be. Are you willing to be obedient?

3. Re-read Matthew 6:19-34. What is your greatest challenge in regards to material possessions or money as you seek first the Kingdom of God and lay up treasures in heaven?

We saw Jesus push us above and beyond the “The Law” and undoing some for the “man-made” additions Jewish scholars made; are there any more “current” or “new” church traditions or things that you have heard in church that Jesus is challenging in you? Pastor Kelly gave the example of “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a life time.”

3. Read 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 - How would the world view the things that Jesus is saying within the Sermon on the Mount? How is the power of God displayed in what Jesus is teaching? How does Paul say we become righteous?
