How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?

In the wrap up of the Holy Spirit weekend series, we see how we can be filled to overflowing with God’s incredible love and how this is available to all who are thirsting for more of God and the Holy Spirit.

Welcome to Calvary Community Church! In the second of the Alpha messages about the Holy Spirit, we are told that He brings us into a relationship with God the Father, giving us the power to become like Jesus Christ, and in doing so becoming part of the family of God.

This is the first of three Alpha messages from the Holy Spirit weekend where we will explore who the Holy Spirit is, see how he has been at work in people’s lives, find out what he does, and finally show how he wants to fill us to overflowing.

Today we are going to answer the question, “How Does God Guide Us?” If someone were to ask you that question, what would your answer be? We are going to look at five ways that God guides us. Depending on the situation, you may use one of the ways or you might need to use all five ways depending on what you need.

Have you ever wondered "What does the bible have to do with my life today?" Or have you ever gotten bored while reading the bible? These are questions that most Christians have at one point or another struggled with. In this message Josiah Olmos will tell about why it is important for us to have a relationship with the bible and how it is the inspired word of God; even sharing about his own relationship with the bible.

Surveys indicate that most people pray. Even people who don’t consider themselves religious find themselves praying from time to time. If that is the case, how can we pray in a way that is meaningful and effective?

This week we are looking at the evidence for believing in Christianity. How are faith and trust connected? What defines a Christian? How can a person make sure they have made the right decision? Join us as we explore these and other important questions!

If we are honest, we all have to admit that we do things we know are wrong. In this presentation we look at the problem of sin, God’s solution, and the result of Jesus’ death. We may have heard that Jesus died on the cross, but we are left asking the question, “Why did He die?” Does Jesus’ death really have relevance to our lives today? Why are we so good at rationalizing our mistakes and feeling superior to others?

Is there evidence that Jesus was a real person? Was Jesus just a great man, or was he more than that? Today we sort through historical witness and written testimony about Jesus, as well as examine the claims he made about being God.
