An encounter with the resurrected Jesus has never left anyone the same. This reality is no more true than in the story Luke recounts for us of two men who found their hearts radically transformed as the resurrected Jesus joined their travels and gave them a walk to remember.

How do we know the Bible is God’s word? This is a very important question. After all, as Bible believers, we base our lives on it. In this study we are given 4 areas of study that prove the Bible to be God’s word, not man’s.

No event in all of human history changed our world like the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Luke presents to us those who first encountered the empty tomb and the message they received we are confronted with the impact this reality still makes in our lives today.

As we continue from last week's message (One Blood, One Race, One Cross) we take a look at Romans 13 for an important exhortation about submitting to authorities. It honors our Heavenly Father when we, as Jesus did during HIs earthly ministry, humble ourselves under the structures ordained by God. Even when the rulers themselves are not godly, we know that they will be judged at the proper time and that we will be rewarded for our obedience, as long as we don't contradict God's word in our submission to the law of the land.

Throughout this gospel, Luke has presented to us a God who is not repulsed by our failures and frailties but it ready to show mercy and grace to the most undeserving of humanity. It is this heart that now climaxes and culminates as we are confronted with the cross of Christ.

The human race is experiencing intensifying "birth pangs" of global strife, including conflicts between ethnic groups around the world, as we approach the end of days. This tragic form of destruction is partly based on the denial of the fact that ALL people from every nation are ultimately descended from the same parents: Adam and Eve! And though we are all of one blood and therefore literally related to everyone on the planet, the only way we can become part of the eternal family of God is through the one way of salvation -- faith in Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross!
