We have spent the last few weeks talking about the sin and fall of Samson. This week we will look at the restoration of Samson after his fall. So many Christians fall into sin and think that God can never use them again, but that's simply not true as we will see with Samson. There are always consequences, but if we repent, God will restore us and use us again for His kingdom. When we talk about restoration we must first understand that when we repent and ask forgiveness we are immediately forgiven and restored to God in relationship. But the restoration process often takes time depending on the depth of sin and how long it has been going on.

Whenever we see an individual or a nation in decline spiritually we will always see the same results and consequences. Compromise, Corruption, and confusion. First there will be compromise. The person or nation will abandon previously held convictions and simply give in to what everyone else is doing. Then secondly from compromise comes corruption. Once we abandon our moral convictions, corruption simply takes over. After corruption, comes overall confusion. No one can ascertain right and wrong anymore and hence “anything goes” and everyone does what is right in his own eyes, rather than what is right is God’s eyes. This is exactly what we will see in today’s passage with the nation of Israel and sadly what we now see in our own nation. Compromise, corruption, and confusion between right and wrong.

As we look at the life of Samson after being taken captive by the enemy we find him with his eyes plucked out and grinding grain. A lesson we can learn is sometimes the consequences we face as a result of our sin, can be used to bring us back to God. When God brings consequences in your life, are you allowing those consequences to turn you back to the Lord?

There is a strange truth about our human nature that I call the “Samson Effect”. One of the most famous stories in all of the Bible is the one of Samson and Delilah. So what is the Samson Effect? It is where we have become so deadened and blinded to the reality of right and wrong by our sin, or the sin of the society around us, that Satan can literally tell us openly that he is going to destroy us, and we keep toying with sin anyway.

All of us are on one road or another. The question is, which road are we on? Are we on a road of righteousness, or a road of sin? Today we will see Samson on a road leading to sin. We will look at each wrong turn he took along the way, and see how we can avoid taking wrong turns.

All of us have heard of physician assisted suicide and as Christians we know it is wrong. Today we will look at spiritually assisted suicide, which is even worse due to the eternal consequences of allowing sin to rule over us.

Last week we looked at the compromise in Samson’s life and how it affected him and his relationship with God. Today we look at the consequence of Samson’s compromise and how it affected those around him. It’s one thing to realize we are compromising in our walk with God and then to experience the consequences that come with it. But it’s an entirely different thing to see how our compromise and consequences affect those around us.

As we take a moment to reflect on this sanctity of life Sunday, Pastor Mark shares a special message about the death culture that is pervasive in society today. We all need to take a stand and not live a life of compromise when it comes to the sanctity of human life. Each one of us has been put here for a purpose and we are greatly loved by a merciful God. So where are you in your walk with God? Are you living a life of compromise? Or are you living a life of commitment and full devotion to God?

We know we're supposed to bring what we have before the Lord and He will use what we have brought to him more than what we could ask or think! However how many of us have brought before the Lord the jaw bone of a donkey? We'll see how God used a jaw bone in Samson's hand and how we can experience "A Jaw Dropping Victory" in our own life too!

It’s been said, “Drastic times require drastic measures.” And with everything that is going on, we definitely live in drastic times.
