We clearly see the events surrounding the birth of Jesus that were played out in the physical realm, but what we often miss are the unseen events that were occurring in the spiritual realm.Yet as we look into this side of Christmas, we find some very important truths for our lives.

The first Christmas light to ever be hung was hung by God himself in the sky over Jesus. It was used tho draw men to Him, which is how we should use this time of year ourselves. Everything wee do should point to Jesus as the one true savior oid the world.

Israel's coming, conquering king was first prophesied as coming in a humble manner. Yes He would be Lord, but He would first be lowly. He would be a king that all could draw near to and find He is available and able to understand our situations.

One of the temptations that can come from being involved in the things of God is that we can easily fall into the trap of just going through the religious motions rather than being led by a heart devotion to the Lord. As Zechariah exposes this heart issue in the Jewish people, we find a good motive check for our own lives.
